E-bike chain
I know to avoid shimano on a manual bike, as they snap. On an e-bike is there any brand I should be considering?

Re: E-bike chain
Shimano HG chains on my e-bike and no problems, rear mechs however.

Re: E-bike chain
I've used SRAM chains for quite a few years with no problems.
The only chain that I've snapped was a KMC that I bought on eBay about 4 or 5 years ago that was obviously not genuine.
Since then I only buy chains from my lbs who do them for just over £20 iirc

Re: E-bike chain
SRAM (LEVO) or XT (EVIL) chains here. No problems apart from wearing out faster and you must stay on top of wear otherwise the smaller cassette cogs get a bit skippy with a new chain

Re: E-bike chain
yeah, I use the GX chains
Re: E-bike chain
Are you cross chaining? I.e. riding in the big ring up front and big ring on the cassette.

Re: E-bike chain
this was a while ago in the days when people had triple chainrings. I have been on single front rings for about 6 years - and have only snapped a chain once.
If I remember that was after a rare chain suck incident.
