(It is quite unpleasant. The seat looks like the ejector function has jammed, the swing arm is vile and it looks like the whole thing had sunk in the middle. Nasty).
Doubt is not a pleasant condition.
But certainty is an absurd one.

To be fair, a Scott does look sunk in the middle!
Here’s a 1957.
True, it's what he's done with the seat that makes it look really odd. It did get me reading about them again (I helped restore a Flyer when I was at school). I never realised but there was a Silk version.
Edit: correction, I never realised that the Silk was a Scott Flying Squirrel with Spondon frame and forks.

I'm keeping an eye on the free ads/marketplace for a winter project. I've set myself a budget of up to £2k (which is why I keep posting cheap shitters). I'd really like a Honda Bros, but they're all further away that I want to travel.
I spotted this on gumtree today. Back in my late teens I had to make a choice between a 400 Bros and one of these. I picked the Bros.
I'd be half tempted, but these days I don't think I'd be able to bend myself to fit, they're proper tiny.
Is not the case any more that race numbers are specifically illegal on road bikes?
I think it used to be a law, because RAC Rally (car) competitors had to get special dispensation to use the roads to get between stages without removing their numbers, but last time I looked (a couple of years back now, I think I checked when Honda started selling repsol rep fireblades with 63 on them) I couldn't find anything saying race numbers were illegal.

I remember in Canada that if your car has stripes or numbers, you get an insurance loading.

I've had a look round too, including a poke about the Road Traffic Offenders Act, which is The Law we're actually talking about breaking.
Can't find anything to say numbers are specifically illegal, but racing on the road obviously is. General consensus is that the 5-0 might think you're racing if you're all numbered up.
If they think one of their own bikes is racing....well....
