So you're the one! It was sometime back in the early 1980s. I was on my way home from class, nice fall weather, a few days after Halloween. My normal route had me going down a fairly gentle grade to an intersection where I'd turn right, travel by 2 or 3 houses, and turn right to go up the driveway where I lived. Nope, a gentle bit of pressure on the rear brake and thhhpppppppttttth. Fortunately I hadn't initiated a lean and just went straight on down the street. Back tire locked up on some previously smashed bit of pumpkin that neatly matched the grey colour of the asphalt where it'd been smashed.
