Bennifer
Just watching the news, Ben Affleck and J-Lo are getting divorced!
How interesting I hear you say.
The story mentioned that the house was up for sale and had 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms.
Well I didn't believe that a house could have twice as many bathrooms as bedrooms, so went a searching.
I couldn't find any bathroom pictures or floor plans, but I did find the for sale ad.

What I did spot flicking through the pics...
Do you recon that's Mr Affleck's Hayabusa?

Re: Bennifer
Apparently he's a half decent bloke, albeit with a drink problem, still close to his ex and kids and generally a good egg.
What he saw in that vainglorious clotheshorse who can't sing, certainly can't act and is generally a cunt to everyone, I'll never know.

Let's face it, having somewhere peaceful to have a shit is magic, so I fully approve of the too many bathrooms thing.
When we bought this place the previous owner had installed a shitter in the corner of the front room, so we effectively had to -reduce- the number of available facilities. Horrors.

Was that so they didn't have to miss out on the conversation whilst taking a dump?DefTrap wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 7:32 am Let's face it, having somewhere peaceful to have a shit is magic, so I fully approve of the too many bathrooms thing.

Re: Bennifer
Few years ago I stayed in a very nice Georgian pile that was a "Granny-annex" off an even bigger Georgian pile (think your typical Oxfordshire rolling countryside type affair). The "Granny-annex" was more of a "Mistress-annex" if I remember correctly, and was at least three times the size of your typical modern new-build. All so that the aristo who built the place could have his cake, and eat his muffin too.McNab wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 7:43 amWas that so they didn't have to miss out on the conversation whilst taking a dump?DefTrap wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 7:32 am Let's face it, having somewhere peaceful to have a shit is magic, so I fully approve of the too many bathrooms thing.

The "annex" had a dining room that was probably the size of my current house's footprint, for entertaining smaller, more intimate parties.... and had a small cubby in one corner containing a very elegant "water-closet", with very, very thin walls.
The Georgians didn't want anyone to miss out on anything.

If I leave the living room to hall and the downstairs bog doors open, I can still see the TV from the throne.

Friends' place in NZ has one of those. But no sink to wash your hands.

I think the previous owner was elderly and possibly couldn't be arsed with shuffling the additional 10 yards to the next lavvy.

I've got two lathes, four pillar drills, two milling machines and a jig borers.. There's some white goods in the house I'm led to understand.
