He's done well to pass the test at his age, fair play to him. I know a couple of 86 year olds and couldn't see either of them managing it, not even close.

I passed mine at 17, whilst I was physically fitter than any 86 year old, I wasn't exactly sensible and had little experience.

I got a 78 year old retired bus driver past his Direct Access first time years ago.

He'd taken 6 tests with other instructors previously.

I just had to remind him he wasn't driving his bus regularly ;) Lovely bloke, a joy to work with. He'd be 100 now - wonder if he's still around?
