Friday thread. The 'still in mountains' one

Post by weeksy »

Getting near to the end of our trip

Fri. Cycling and beer, ham baguette, then waiting for the boy. Out tonight or maybe pizza, not sure.
Sat. Leaving Morzine and heading to Burgundy for wine buying, food and an overnight stop.
Sun. Chilled morning with croissants and then hitting the road back to Calais and UK.
Mon-Wed days off at home to rebuild bikes and recover 🤣

Out for a couple of beers with a friend tonight. Nothing heavy.

Saturday, will get up and attend my first Park Run for many years, as somebody I know is doing her 100th and we're all turning out to celebrate the milestone. I'll get back, walk dog, have breakfast then head to Stansted to pick up Mrs. G and family from their week in Skiathos. Not sure if we're out in the evening.

Sun: Might go gym in the morning and then a long dog walk.
All aboard the Peckham Pigeon! All aboard!

Getting picked up to go to the airport at 3am! Should be indoors by 9 though. Sit with dogs who will go mental until they calm down then grab some kip.
Go to see my step dad who came out off hospital yesterday and is now in rehab centre for physio before he can go home.
Go shopping then collect f-I-l who is on his own for the weekend and probably the m-I-l and step f-I-l too. Feed and water them and hope they make an early departure.
Go to bed for what will undoubtedly be much needed ZZzzzzs

Fri - finishing work soon to go collect the wee man, nothing planned for the rest of the day, probably looking after the wife as she’s a bit poorly.

Sat - usual golf won’t be happening as the wife is getting her hair done so I need to look after the wee man, inconsiderate arse that she is 👀

Sun - golf in the am instead of the usual Saturday morning 😁

Mon - back to the grafting

A bit of plumbing, a bit of decorating, a bit of laundry today.
Street, well road really, party tomorrow night. And it's very conveniently outside my door.

Work today, cycle home and some red wine.
Sat and Sun, lazy days with Mrs M and the hounds, maybe a BBQ on Saturday.

"Especially the lies."

Belated wedding anniversary tonight. Posh hotel in Winchester and an Ibiza night. Already on the champagne.

Tomorrow I’m nipping into Windsor to see a friend and go to a few taps and drink beer

Sunday beach with family

Have a great one all

Travelling back to the UK on Sunday so we’re making the most of the time - five hours (!) on the beach today and now I’m sitting in the garden with a beer & watching the MotoGP on a shonky website with burner laptop…

Was going to go out but I rode to Chambery and back today (a bit quicker than normal!) and had a day of the course. Now I'm home I just want to sleep :( :(

Tomorrow, coffee; possibly get a lift to the valley to buy coffee for home and get some 'e-photo' codes; then study, more study and some more study - mostly for a test on Monday but also to improve my understanding of the french words in the highway code and how they phrase the bastarding questions :( :(
My favourite rockabilly band is playing over in Peisey - so if it's not raining, I'll probably head over there!!

Sunday - ride to the valley to get a coffee and a cinnamon roll; repeat of the studying; early night

This course is going to make me even more boring
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

Just back from a posh lunch in Richmond via a magical mystery GPS tour to avoid traffic, roadworks, closed roads. 1.5hrs there and more home again for a journey that should be 28 miles each way. :(

Tomorrow go and pick up a repaired clock...bacon sarnie for elevenses at Cowdrey en route.

The rest of the week....dunno. May involve grass and hedges and power tools.
