X-ADV 750 transmission malfunction

Post by Kiddo »

Hey guys

I have this 2017 X-ADV 750. For few days now, I notice that the gear selections are not normal. Sometimes it stops at 2,3,4,5 and sometimes ride normal when riding within 5@-70km all gears change but if I try to accelerate, it get stuck.

I’ve searched online for the transmission fluid replacement but can’t find the actual location.
Please help me if you know.

Do they have separate transmission fluid, like a car, or do they just use the engine oil for lubrication?

I'd also look for a away to reset any ecu learnt adaptations, there might be a button combo or just leaving the battery disconnected for a couple of hours might do it.

You need to do a DCT reset and it’ll be like a new bike. I’m in Spain so only getting search results in Spanish but you can get the gist from this video or search for x-adv DCT reset on YouTube. Note, the bike must be at normal running temp to do this.

The transmission fluid is not separate to the engine oil. Do an oil change and change the two filters. There is a standard oil filter and a smaller DCT filter. Loads of YouTube videos on how to do it but the DCT reset will likely cure the problem.
