I'll have to dig out the custom Converse I got for my honeymoon
(Mrs D has a complementary pair somewhere) one day.
Rather strange item for a honeymoon, icebreaker before the actual "honeymoon" perhaps, also now curious as to where and why you would get them made?

Converse stopped doing it for ages. The stuff they do now isn't as in depth as it used to be, you used to be able to change every single aspect of them...mine have got different coloured eyelets in some of the lace holes for example.

As to "why?"....like a lot of brides Mrs D wanted some flat shoes for most of the wedding, so we got her custom ones with the date of our wedding embroidered on the back. They go with her wedding dress. I bought some of the same type and broadly the same colors and we both wore them as our walking about shoes on honeymoon.

I'm not enough of a hipster to have worn them at my wedding in conjunction with a suit though.

My current favs are the fake Oofos recovery sliders from Amazon. £11.99 and comfy as feck around the house.

Giving Tiepin a run for his money with my snide Internet purchases. ;)

Easier to say what I haven't got. No green or red shoes. I've got some Saucony trainers with silver, blue, black, yellow on and some quite colourful safety trainers (composite toecap), a pair of blue desert boots, some light tan boots, some grey Scarpas, black shoes, brown shoes.

I, erm, appear to be a shoe hoarder. :shifty:

I bet many people, myself included, have a pair of seldom worn shiny Oxfords tucked away with the dinner suit and bow tie, that are totally forgotten about until somebody mentions a black tie event.

I know I have.

I must be one of the few.
If I ever was one of those likely to go to a black tie event, I'm certainly not now, not much call for it in rural France.

Newey wrote: Thu Aug 08, 2024 3:57 pm OK when the heck did it happen, putting on my shoes I noticed that I have many brown coloured ones, brown waterproof ankle boots, brown comfortable shoes, brown slippers, brown snow boots and FFS, even brown trainers what the heck happened to black! of which I have an old pair of black trainers and a pair of black shoes which I had to buy for a wedding probably never to be seen again, I am old.
1st thing, is it bad form to quote your own post lol
After reading the replies I am fucking trendy with the brown, who knew!
