Accents: love / hate
Spurred on by Yorick's comment about dear Kenny nee Trotty and her accent, it got me thinking about accents that I dislike and those I find pleasing on the ear.
I really don't like the current rasping naselly American female accent. It sounds so affected.
A nice well spoken Geordie lass I find rather pleasing to listen to and the occasional dose of posh totty, especially when being reprimanded
What's your least favourite and pleasing accent.
@Yorick just answer the latter

Brummie accents, Wolverhampton in particular, make me laugh. I could be given the worse news ever by a Brummie doctor and still I'd have to snigger.
Posh Scot is nice.
Danish ( or a Dane speaking English) is plain odd. It's like the tongue is fighting the language. It's often said that Danish is like Swedish being spoken by somebody with a hot potato in their mouth.
American West Coast and South African accents are like nails on a blackboard to my ears.
And goes without saying, the South London accent is loved and envied around the globe.

Some languages look nice when written but don't sound nice spoken. eg Spanish is a great written lingo but sounds like gargling.

Ahem. Point of order: Wolverhampton is Black Country, not Brum. We're Yam Yams, not Brummies
I am not fond of certain South African accents.

Only people from Wolverhampton make the distinction between Wolverhampton and Brummie.

There is genuinely a road in a village not far away from me, and technically in Wolverhampton, called Bumble Hole Meadows
