And I like Pulparindo Mexican sweets, which everyone else I know that has tried it thinks is the work of the Devil.

I really like sliced tongue. Ox and Pork.

I grew up eating it, with it in the same class as ham, so missed the 'gross' connotations. Yum.

Sprouts are food of the devil

I don't eat beans! Pretty much any type of beans! - it's the texture I hate!! No idea why though.

As a kid I would eat cold baked beans cos I could just swallow them whole. As an adult, if someone has cooked something with beans in, I'll eat it but I won't chew the beans!! I like hummous but won't eat chickpeas!!

Don't like smooth peanut butter :o but love crunchy :D

Don't like brown sauce

LOVE ham and pineapple pizza :D :D :D The bestest isn't made up here anymore (the restaurant was sold and the chef went down south :( ) - thin base, onion in the tomato base sauce, ham (but the dried ham type), pineapple and goats cheese :D :D Bloody gorgeous :D :D

I detest yoghurt - it's okay as riata or on turkish food but avoid at all costs in the sweet variety
I do like anchovies - and can eat them out of the tin.
I hate tomato ketchup on chips
I can't believe than anyone under 75 eats salad cream - it was what you ate when you weren't sophisticated enough for mayonnaise.

I have a thing for tinned chicken in white sauce. It’s definitely a childhood hangover.

As for the baked beans debate, tinned are hideous. If I ever have a full English they get deleted. Try this recipe for really good beans. It’s definitely my favourite:

And good Hawaiian pizza is really good

Completely agree on the mayonnaise, it’s the best - maybe tied with kewpie. The ketchup and mustard are also high up on the list.

Anchovies, like oysters, were poor people's food.

I've been buying Ortiz ones (and sardines) from The Fish Society* (in Guildford but they're home delivery) for quite a while now - they're epic. Canned fish is having a 'moment' and the anchovies are now £6.50  I guess they're not poor folk fare any more!

*Their fish fingers are big and proper too.

I didn't know mayonnaise even existed until the 1980s.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned German mustard in a beer glass.

I can’t cope with mixing main course and pudding on the same plate eg gammon/pineapple, pork/apple sauce, turkey/cranberry.

If you’re good, you can have my muesli recipe instead: 1kg jumbo oats, 400g dried mixed fruit, 200g mixed nuts (buzz them in the mixer till they stop clonking). Stick some extra seeds in as well if you like. Delicious, may even be a bit healthy.

On a similar theme, people who visit the buffet and put both their dinner and dessert on the same plate. Without meaning to stereotype, it's mainly overweight Americans who do this, I suppose to avoid the exertions of heaving their obese bodies off the chair once again.

I can't stand buffets. If someone is going to cook for me, I want to eat something that they've decided is a meal of complementing flavours - don't leave it up to me to experiment with chicken, fish, gravy & melon on the same plate - oh and a side order of four different ways with potatoes because I can't make my mind up. I think the only exception to this 'no buffet' rule is breakfast.

I'd never tried Gentlemans relish :? until recently. Seemed to me to be a grey coloured salt spread with no redeeming features.

I add tinned pineapple chunks to my Chilli in the slow cooker. About 30 mins before serving.

Everyone says it sounds rubbish. But it all gets eaten !?
