Ducati To Help MM93?

Post by Yorick »

Reading between the lines, I reckon they want MM93 to beat JM and the Beast.
They want to keep the #1 plate

I hope they do help him, then we'll see even better racing :obscene-birdiedoublered:

The consensus seems to be that the 24 is a big step up from the 23 bike. Which considering 2 of the 24 bikes are being ridden by people leaving Ducati this year does make things awkward for them. Either that or Marc has lost his edge, but then he is still the best of the 23 bikes by a way.

Marc isn't the 'super alien' he used to be, I don't think. He's as good as anyone on his day, but he's not the Marc of old. And he does seem to be making more mistakes. But it's hardly something to be surprised at - he was the best rider in the world for pretty much all of the 2010 onward decade, and his body has taken some horrendous punishment. It's testament to his will to win that he's still competing.

I had higher expectations of MM this year. He's not a million miles away at 4th in the standings, but he keeps binning it and has now dropped behind a resurgent Bastianini. MM is only 62 points behind leader George Martin, but he needs to stay on and score more points,if he's to challenge.

I'm not convinced the reason for the crashes is solely because the 24 Duc is better than the 23 Duc. It is a better bike, but MM has a long history of bin or win.

Yes, a mid-20s MM would destroy the field on a year old bike. Anno Domini is catching up with him and that does seem to be lending him a certain air of desperation. That incident at WDW where he basically punted Bulega off at the last corner is a perfect example of that - no need, no point, it was only a 'show' race but he had to get on the podium by fair means or foul.
