Put them in the airing cupboard and see what they hatch into.

They definitely have larvae in there.
They've gone into a bottle and we'll see what develops!

I get loads of them here, in the window frames, under cushions on the balcony chairs, any small out of the way space. They're mud pots for insect eggs. The culprit is a black flying insect about an inch long with well separated body parts - they look like a black wasp towing a trailer!

I've never looked up what they actually are but I'll do so and try and find/take a picture of one - I had one flying around the house a couple of days ago and whilst they are easy to swat, I opened the window for it to get out. They look like they have a sting in the tail but they've never bothered me nad I've never heard of anyone being stung by them.

*Edit* Probably the black and yellow mud dauber wasp although I don't think thelocal ones have yellow legs. They're often around so I'll try and get a picture of one.

I read that as 'theological' - imagined them all black with a white collar.

It wasn't that bad, in fairness. The worse bit was when he squeezed the local anesthetic down my Jap-eye, then proceeded to do what I can only describe as 'reverse milking', whilst pinching closed said Jap-eye, to make sure it went all the way down the shaft. :wtf:

Once you've experienced that, there's little dignity to lose for the rest of the procedure. :D
