If he can walk off and gurn like that,I daresay he'll survive. It could easily have been very different.

Re: Is This A Motorcycle?
From what I remember reading on mates AR50 headstock waaaaay back when above 3 KWh and 30mph topspeed made em a motorcycle.
My Fizzy at the time was an old one so was a bit faster from when the regs were a bit looser.

Re: Is This A Motorcycle?
Coincidentally I've just seen a post on Instagram that appears to be showing (Italian?) Police testing an electric scooter at the side of the road.
Re: Is This A Motorcycle?
In the UK lots of elderly and disabled people use them for transport but I am not sure that they are legally classed as Mobility Scooters
because they are capable of doing 15mph, the manufacturers fit a switch to limit the top speed to 8mph which they say makes them
a UK legal Mobility Scooter.
Green Power who sell most of these scooters have a terrible reputation for after sales support and the scooters are always going wrong
from welds snapping to electrical problems.

I don't know for sure but the police appear to be dyno-ing the scooter. I guess to check for illegally fast ones?

Re: Is This A Motorcycle?
In Portugal over the weekend I saw a few of these and loads of them kiddy stand-up scooters.
But also saw loads of leccy scooters which looked just like a 50cc petrol scooters.
Cool. But none of the riders were wearing helmets. Many riding 2 up and fair shifting.
Surely these are the kids who need to wear a lid to safeguard their youthful invincibility

That a 31 year old bloke should simply NOT be part of a 'boy' band and should grow up and stop arseing about on scooters?Yorick wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 10:57 am I wonder if the police were trying to make a point?

Re: Is This A Motorcycle?
No it is not a motorcycle. Yamaha carefully avoid quoting the power output but to comply with regulations it will be 250 watts or less. Like any legal ebike assistance stops at 15.5 mph ( 25Kph) and with those energy sapping balloon tyres you would need a downhill stretch to exceed that on leg power alone.
E bikes can be legally ridden anywhere that permits bicycle riding but this is now causing so much trouble that the law is likely to be changed soon. Much like electric scooters ( the stand on kind ) there is wide spread abuse causing safety concerns and it will only take a few more deaths before everything changes.
Unfortunately this will mean that at the very least insurance will be required and that in turn means that bikes will have to be registered. So the irresponsible few will spoil it for all of us as usual!

Blurb does say 25kmh and pedal assist, which means it's an e-bike
So no, it's not a motorcycle!
