Friday thread... the "oh my it's a hot one.."

Post by weeksy »

It's still incredibly warm here, no duvet/covers required for the whole week. Does mean the insects get to snack more though lol

Anyway.
Fri. WFH then taking the boy to Burford, dropping him off and he's heading to Morzine. First time he'll have been away without us !!!
Sat. Putting up with Mrs Weeksy tracking the boy on her iphone through France. Likely a ride on MTB and a pint somewhere. Watching Olympic mens cycling
Sun. Chill one i think.. depends on the weather, but again, a ride and a beer wouldn't shock me and waiting for the reports on Champery track from the boy and seeing how he gets on with it.

Today is online training for the Coastguard. Either at home of somewhere I can get several hours of uninterrupted internet.
Tomorrow is the practical training, as possibly is Sunday

Haven't been bothered (touch wood) by flying, biting things at night but have been leaving doors open to get a bit of air flow through the house. Neighbour's cat wanders in (furry, black and white, looks like Silvester). Made a fuss of it for 5 minutes then evicted it.

Not long after my shoulder, arm, armpit - covered in flea :angry-cussingblack: bites. Won't be neighbourly in future.

Actually have got a few things planned (for me) this week inc. another visit to the 'clock man'. After spending a king's ransom on a new chimes spring + service on an antique carriage clock...it keeps stopping. :(

Got 12 months warranty on the repair - expires November - so we'll see how good the warranty is!

Off to Guildford for the morning today - there will be coffee and pain au raisin.

Plan is to sand some filler in a ceiling, and then paint a first coat in the back bedroom now the new plaster is dry 👍

WFh today. I have to read and comment on a 129 page document on imaging standards. Then watch a Ted Talk on similar. :wtf: I dont want to play anymore.
Based on the above I shall drink copious amounts of wine tonight.
Tomorrow put the x-adv in the back garden and the cb100R in the front ready (hopefully) for collection over the weekend. The x-adv will finally get its new oil and filters.
Sunday, depending on the weather but i fancy a bbq.
In that lot somewhere we may be visiting the hospital if my Sted Dad is still in there. But as the hospital has no idea if hes staying in, going to rehab or going home, who knows?

TED is dedicated to researching and sharing knowledge that matters through short talks and presentations. Our goal is to inform and educate global audiences in an accessible way.

Scientists, researchers, technologists, business leaders, artists, designers and other world experts take the TED stage to present “Ideas Worth Spreading”: valuable new knowledge and innovative research in their fields. These TED talks are filmed at our flagship TED conferences, independent TEDx events, partner events and salons held in our NYC World Theater.

In June 2006, TED released six talks recorded at its conferences on the internet. Since then, every talk delivered at a TED event is reviewed by our research, editorial and curatorial teams for publication on TED.com. Thanks to these online videos, TED has attracted an international following that has grown into the millions. This enthusiastic reception prompted us to turn our website into the home of TED Talks, a lovingly curated, constantly growing educational archive. These talks are now viewed or listened to more than 3 billion times annually.

Got family visiting for the weekend for daughter 2’s engagement party tonight which means I’m currently supposed to be doing housework, whilst prepping food and hopefully helping said daughter from having a meltdown.

I’ve been successful so far despite her mother’s best efforts and her beau being stuck at work. Not his fault, got called out at 6am for a ‘quick job’ and he’s due back just before 1pm when various catering orders need collecting, I’m on standby to help there too.

My sister is travelling from Bexhill and after 2 hours were still on M11, 84 miles from home, 186 miles left to go. They are going to be frazzled by the time they arrive!

Tomorrow, lazy day in sunshine, no doubt nursing hangovers before family BBQ in the evening.

Sunday, turf family out after cooked breakfast, then chill out for rest of the day

Fri. Out to the pub for lunch with wife and boy as a farewell for his adventures :)

Friday, last rest day so at home chilling, cut the grass, crap like that.
Saturday and Sunday is MotoGP at Silverstone so probably busy as I’m on earlies, dealing with bike break downs, accidents etc, although hopefully not. Maccys breakfast with the team at shift start so we can plan and talk bollocks.
Enjoy, have fun whatever you’re up to
Mick.

Extracting honey, there's not lots to come off but enough to make it worthwhile getting the extractor wet and spending the weekend cleaning, getting sticky, cleaning and more cleaning, and then for good measure some more cleaning.

Today - shitty day. Now listening to a storm and watching the clouds break up and change colour!!

Tomorrow - there's a 'classic' car and bike rally up here this weekend so a couple of mates with Capris are joining in and I'll be meeting them up here and drinking coffee and chatting a bit :D

Sunday - see tomorrow!! LOL With added BBQ at a mate's place. I might take some alcohol and get drunk! Probably won't, if I was gonna do that it would have been tonight, but I don't drink a lone and can't be arsed to go out now!! LOL

Got to keep practicing on the highway code test - I know the signs etc, just don't know all the French words for them so only got 50% in the first test I did online!!
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:
