'New posts' since the latest update

Post by weeksy »

I don't know about you lot, but 'new posts' seems to often show very little. Even earlier today i had 6 threads in there, then next click it's empty, it's almost like a time-out on new posts has either dropped to next to nothing, or is having a minor wobbly.

I'm now using 'unread posts' from the left hand 3line menu dropdown which is more effective.

I've pinged it over to @HiFi Kabin to see if it's something they're seeing on other forums etc.

Similar with 'Unread Posts'. When I use that on the drop down there's usually quite a few. Today there were 3. :hmmm:

Well that's because you've read them all :D

I'm not having issues with unread posts personally. My list is quite long for that one.

Maybe the cutoff date/time offset has changed?

I'm still seeing a page worth, but then i did just have to sign in again, so maybe something has changed?

There doesn't appear to be one... at least not in a configurable context that we can modify. Unless i'm missing it somewhere, but i certainly can't find it.

I've got an odd thing I've noticed.
The site appears to be stuck at 100% scaling, whereas I have my monitor set up at 125%, yet when I bump up to 150% the text is massive, seems there's a step missing.

It appears to only happen in Prosilver (dark), the 3 or 4 other styles I've checked appears to be fine

The New Posts table is populated with new posts made since your last login. If you (or your browser) logs you out the 'start time' of the list is reset to that time.

My 'New Posts' list covered two pages this morning, with the earliest timestamp following the update I did on Saturday. I suspect (but do not know) that the update has also reset the table in a similar way.

Strange, my W11 laptop is scaled at 125% yet I have no difference between styles either here or elsewhere

Do you have a % in the url window when using prosilver_dark? (there shouldn't be, but I can not think of anything else)

I noticed this yesterday and I prefer the old way!!

I use New Posts all the time. Don't always finish or respond to some of them, but they have usually been there when I go back a few minutes (even an hour or so) later.

This morning a page and one post full. I haven't read all of them, haven't responded to all of them and have used the 'back arrow' to go back.

Just used the new posts button and there's nothing there. So, maybe 10 mins of reading? Haven't logged out or anything.

I know I can get the unread ones in Unread posts, but the ones I haven't replied to or want to read again - well, I'll have to make notes somewhere to remind me which section of the forum they are in and the title of the thread!!   (Never gonna do that!!)

Guess I'll have to change how I use the forum :( :( But I don't rate that particular bit of the upgrade :( :( (I don't notice anything else cos I don't use much else except New Posts :( :( )

EDIT : just clicked New Posts after writing my post and this is the only thread showing - so yes, it's a new post (cos I made it!!) but it's a shame that none of the others still show after only 10 - 20 mins :(

New posts works fine for me. Using Opera on a Mac and Chrome on Android.

This what others use?

So, all the posts made since my 'list' was wiped clear, all the posts are staying visible. So maybe it's that the others were posted last night and so are way older than the rest.

Shame, but I'll have to remember to use the back arrow until I've caught up! :D :D
