Re: Worth a punt?
Research suggest the Suzuki engine is more powerful and reliable than the rotax. Suzuki parts are also cheaper than rotax parts and there's no silly belt, just a good old camchain.

But it's not as pretty. Can you get a selection of cams for the Suzuki? Can you? Huh?

Re: Worth a punt?
Just got a quote of £18.35 to add it to my insurance until renewal in December.
I do hope it's alright in the flesh cos I'm all excited now.

Check the dash works
Check the loom around the headstock
Check the rear shock mount and bearings
Check the tank isn't blistered or bubbled in any way

Re: Worth a punt?
It's a bike for pocket money, so I'm not expecting it to be perfect, but I'll deffo give it a good going over, especially those points.MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2024 1:57 pm Check the dash works

Re: Worth a punt?
Ain't none of them deal breakers, but common faults back when I had my 2, and potentials for negotiation, although at that price I'd probably just risk it

Re: Worth a punt?
He's got a 644DS in SM trim too, he wants £3k for both of them (or £1600 each), I'm half tempted to get both, but I'm going to struggle to fit one in the garage, never mind two.
The ad is still up on Friendface if anyone wants to take a look, it's not hard to find.
It looks like the bike has the pillion pegs, which forums suggest is pretty rare. In the video you can see some bubbling at the top of the tank near the filler cap.
I guess the fix is to seal the tank and repaint?
I might slap a really silly colour on it, just for t'crack.
