Quite fitting, given the massive arseholes around here these days.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 7:10 am The "itis" suffix would indicate inflammation, doesn't sound pleasant.

Re: What have you done today thread?
This morning I did a 'mitzvah' according to my Jewish friend.
Filtering through the traffic, I see this Porsche Cayenne sporting a none-too-subtle Xclusive body kit. It had one mod I'd never seen before: a box of cakes on the roof.
I stopped next to it and told the fella driving he had a box of cakes on his roof. He did that smile and nod, not quite comprehending what I'd said for a few seconds, then the penny dropped. He then laughed, thanked me and jumped out to retrieve the office treats that nearly didn't make it.
Indeed, I am a 'mensch'.

Last night playing golf with the boy, i hit back to back Birdies. It's been a while since i've played golf more than once in 5 years, but in recent months, once a week isn't uncommon for us. This does mean the swing is somewhat coming together and i'm putting a fair chunk of shots pretty much where they're supposed to go. It's not all perfect, but it's pretty decent.

You don’t want to mess with an inflamed rhino. I know about these things. It comes with being a smartass.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 7:10 am The "itis" suffix would indicate inflammation, doesn't sound pleasant.

I scrub the pool cover occasionally, but still looks shit. Constant dust blowing over from Africa (80 miles away) mixing with any water on cover then baked on by beating sun.
I got fed up so got the jet wash out. I was getting soaked but it cooled me off

Washed the new to me fridge freezer with milton. The place now smells like a swimming pool.
Painted some colours swatches to enable people who care about these to choose their preferred sludge colour. Little Greene paint to, only the finest NT approved sludge colours here. TBF some are nearer bile than sludge.
Fetched one of the pillar drills back to the shed for rebuilding and selling on.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Book flights to Hanoi for 28 December. Booked another flight from Ho Chi Minh City back on the 17 Jan.
Nothing else booked, so I'm open to any other suggestions from those in the know. Currently thinking a few nights in Hanoi to see the old French quarter, drink coffee and chill for a few days, then fly down to Phu Quoc and chill on a beach for about 10 days, eating pho and getting sunburnt and fat. Might do a bit of diving. Last few days in HCMC mooching around, do a Vespa night tour, see the Cu Chi tunnels and stuff, maybe see the Mekong Delta on a boaty thing.
Come on, you budding Judeth Chalmers...enlighten me.

Bought a new car.
The Audi Q3 Quattro was approaching three years old and had filled me with nothing but meh, so I bought the 24-plate VW T-Roc 4motion we were considering a few weeks back.
It has much more ooompf than the Q3, and since we last contemplated buying it it went from 14 miles on the clock and £37K, to 60 miles on the clock and £33K. Given I wanted to buy outright this time rather than PCP, that £4K drop made it a decent deal for a >£40K car - I'll still get the high tax hit, but all-round I'm happy with that

Re: What have you done today thread?
A mate came round this afternoon to fit a new tap - I've had it a few weeks but can't get to where I need to under the sink to do the change! And the old one has been dripping for months which is annoying!!
Sooooo, fancy new tap!! It's a bit big (but was the cheapest on amazon at the time!) but with some reorganising I got everything back around it as before
Happy Noggin with non drippy tap!!

Went for what I thought was an eye exam at the Dr's, but got a full 90 minute MOT. No fails, but got an advisory about cakes/pies.
