Been there, done that.
Spent about 3 months leaning the Mirth against things like petrol pumps and concrete bollards.

I'd forgotten what a shit hole Dover is.
Got here 5 minutes behind my brothers, and they got the option to take an earlier boat because this one is running behind...
Then thanks to the crap queuing systems i got delayed by 10 minutes and got chucked on the delayed boat. And of course it pissed down just before we boarded so now my arse is wet. GAH!

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Another beautiful day here in N/W England.
We did just over 200 miles in the sunshine doing a loop from West Lancs across to Dunsop Bridge/Settle/Ribblehead/Hawes/Buttertubs Pass/Tan Hill/Kirkby Stephen/Devil's Bridge/Trough of Bowland.Great day to be out on the bikes.
The obligatory Ribblehead in the background shot..
The steep, tight hairpins on the road from Keld up to Tan Hill had me out of my comfort zone
I don't think I've seen a 'Super six' out on the road before,I don't think this one's done many miles since it was restored.
At the Jubilee tower looking across Morecambe Bay.
I forgot my ear plugs today & now my ears are ringing,I don't think Baz's incrediblly noisey Harley helped things,we made him ride at the back of the group

@Bustaspoke There's a girl who comes to our classic runs sometimes rides a super six. It's not as clean as that blue one,but it's well used!

Thanks, yes my mate's thought that it's a lot better riding position with the bars fitted,& IMHO after now having done a few hundred miles with the new set up I think it's a big improvement on the bumpy back roads I use

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
I don't know how the Rehhals on my bike compare to the GSXS bars, but I had to route the clutch & throttle cables differently compared to a standard handlebar SV650.At least now I can actually stand on the pegs when the terrain gets 'loose'.
Maybe the next mod will involve a set of risers or higher bars & V-Strom cables

The standard GSXS bars are Renthal Fat Bars so likely very similar if not the same to what you've switched too I imagineBustaspoke wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 11:53 amI don't know how the Rehhals on my bike compare to the GSXS bars, but I had to route the clutch & throttle cables differently compared to a standard handlebar SV650.At least now I can actually stand on the pegs when the terrain gets 'loose'.

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
On your bike the clutch cable runs parallel with the bar,but on mine it's angled, with a metal guide, however the metal guide is at the wrong angle for the cable to run through the cable guide bracket fitted to the headstock.I'm not sure what bars the standard SV has fitted but I fitted Renthal Road Low,bars to my bike & I'm happy with the ergonomics .

Forgot to dis-arm the Ring cameras earlier today & got this of me coming into the drive. I suspect we'll not be positively id'ing any burglars...

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Not exactly the last time but when I rode over to the other side of the Col de la Madelaine.
Forgot that there was someone there taking pics. Gotta sit down and look at the middle one properly to work out if it's Mont Blanc behind me (it'll be there somewhere) and I might order the photo!! ( Need to see Mont Blanc in the photo tho!) Not the 'best' photo really but it's kinda cool cos that particular ride is quite tough, so it's nice to have a memory photo of it
PS: not looking at the photographer, honest!! I'm mid hairpin!

The Red Rocker is over 400 miles now and in for first service Wednesday. Last pre service run out today.
Stopped at Kinlet cafe near Bridgnorth for bacon butty and tea. ( too much bread/not enough bacon ) Got chatting to a retired chap with a Pan, asked where i was going next and " do you mind if I follow you "
So, off to Clee Hill we went. Steady little ride, too many car's out, spoiling the ride, but thats how it often is these days. Few pic's from the top, then back to Much Wenlock via Ludlow race coarse, some may know.

How was it? It looks sort of more CX500 than most MGs.

That's a great little cafe if you haven't been.
