That's a fine looking motard you have there @mboy . But why the missing piece of paint that would turn it from a SasGas to a GasGas?
There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.

I dunno, I think the R30 has a kind of simplistic charm to it.
Suzuki air cooled motor, premium suspension.
There's only the frame, swingarm and electrics to worry about.

Rear shock problem was down to user error / lack of maintenance, but they should be cheap enough to throw a new shock in.
I'd be more concerned about ethanol knackering the petrol tanks.

What, cracking the mounting brackets on the swingarm?

They only had the rotax lump for the first year of production, from what I can gather. Pretty much all the ones for sale have Suzuki engines.

Yes, IIRC, and it's been a while, but that was down the shock bearings not being oiled / greased, seizing up and passing the torque onto the swingarm mount

The grey motors are better than the earlier black ones. Neither of them can handle wheelies over half a mile !!

I remember how fast the R30 was that Big Trunks rode on a couple of the VisorDown NMRO's.
He was a big lad too.

It does baffle me how expensive XT660X's are... they're bonkers money... IMO they're worth it, but for the age/spec/condition, they're bloody expensive. I'd own one though if buying a bike.. but i'd expect to be paying nearly £5000 for it. But you know what, i don't really see that happening.

I've been casually looking at R30's on FB marketplace.
The one nearest to me was also the cheapest at £2200... But it had been listed over a year ago.
I assumed the fella had just forgotten to take the advert down.
Last night the price dropped to £1600.
I sent him a message and I'm going for a look tomorrow.
03 plate, 16,000 miles, recent MOT.
I think it's probably going to be a little rough around the edges, but that's my winter project sorted if so.
