Rwanda next stop?
On an Irish passport. Claiming he's an Irish citizen.
Hardly unusual, there are loads of English people eligible for irish passports. A few on here IIRC.
Aye but most of them ain't claiming to be the chosen son of Albion sent to fight the invading hordes of darkies. It'd be like Gerry Adams getting scooped with a UK one.

Wasn’t he pro Brexit? In which case why did he feel the need to get an Irish passport - thought the British blue one was enough, according to the pro Brexit peeps?

It’s not fair that my Joey Dunlop accent doesn’t get me a passport.

This might interest a few on here, I always thought the MOD was exempt H&S laws. The RN was always stingy with hearing protection, the guy firing the GPMG got it but the guy a few feet away didn't.

I sent this to my hearing aid wearing ex RM mate. He said they do a leaving medical and his hearing was pronounced as good as the day he joined, 28 years earlier. At some point he did get a small amount of compensation, just enough to cover 2 or 3 sets of private hearing aids.

Thanks for the heads up Mussels. I'm going to email the solicitors when I get home and see what they say. I was serving for 4 years after the date given but any damage would have been done a long time before that.

I had a hearing test a few months ago though and they reckoned that my hearing loss was pretty much normal for my age. I doubt I can show it was service related even though I, like many others was subjected to damaging noise levels.

Que sera, sera.

Mind how you go, now.

Health alert as temperatures to hit 30C this week

If you're even thinking of sitting outside, forget it: you'll die. And remember to smother small children and elderly people in an inch-thick layer of factor 50+ before opening the curtains.

Quite.

Hot and humid here so I put my aircon on today for only the second time this year to make the downstairs cooler while I do a pile of ironing.

I set the temp to 28°C. It's very pleasant.

The justice secretary is to seek the sacking of the chair of the body responsible for investigating alleged miscarriages of justice following the publication of a review into the case of Andrew Malkinson.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c2q0gdd9v04o

The CCRC should have dealt with this much better but their role is cleaning up CPS miscarriages, why no criticism of the CPS and police who caused this in the first place? They had all of the evidence so it would have been pretty obvious it was unsafe.
