I never understood why the called their SUV type thingy a Kuga. They'd had a little sporty thing called a Cougar.

Same pronounciation but wildly different cars.

Just didn't (still doesn't) make any sense to me - same with the Capri
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

They called one car a Ka. I had one as a courtesy car. They missed a K off the end. :(

Puma was a widened track fiesta MK3/KA.

The original Ka was a properly interesting and unique sort of car. Later versions are far more boring and generic.

In honesty I didn't like it but it was sort of the (original) Mini of its time. Interesting, as you say.

It looked pretty dated pretty quickly though. Rather like the Chrysler PT Cruiser. At first everybody went 'wassat?' and probably smiled. Then they didn't. :D

(The Merc A Class was another one that morphed into boring too).

Yep that the puma and the fiesta MK3 were amazing handling cars. The fiesta 1.25 was a great engine in a really nicely handling package.

The street and Sport KA were the best of the lot. They were really fun to drive but then had a wider track than the
standard.

2.0 Manta was quicker than 2.0 Capri, 2.0 GTE Manta was faster than a 3.0 Capri, and Capris were really shit to drive, Mantas were pretty good to drive, certainly as good as late Sierras
I had a 2.0 GT/E, it was great. Best Sierra was the XR4x4 2.9, I liked it.

My wee 1.2 Fabia has more power than a 3.0 Capri.
Yeah but that 3 pot engine is shit.
Mine's the 4 banger with the cam belt, they only fitted it for the first of the Fabia 3's its 110 standard, mine is around 135. The missus has the 1.5 version in her Scala, it's 150 standard but its up around 180 brake now.

The 1.0 TSi 3 pot isn't bad, we had one briefly in 95bhp form in a Fabia 3 and it did over 70 to the gallon if you drove it easy.

I had a 1.7 Puma, fantastic little car, probably the most fun car I've driven, also the least practical.
