Sounds like the UK is doing nicely in the middle ground then.

Hoorah for Blighty.

It's 4 years here for all vehicles.
Then test every 2
Wow, so in France and Spain you have a pretty useless overall safety test and its not even annual, its biannual? :wtf:
It's very strict here.
You've enough ex-pats there, rebel and hoof the spanish out and get that St Georges flag flying over the new MOT stations! 8-)

'Safety' is arguable though innit? One UK MOT Tester often produces different results to the next.

But yes, IME the French CT is of a lower standard to the UK MOT, and less frequent. But on the other hand you have to get a new CT before flogging your vehicle on, which is different and arguably 'safer' that the UK.

But meh, vive la difference.

There's about 150,000 folk on this island.

Expats?

About 5,000 British. And same number of Irish & Germans.

They might need to form an axis with the other expats and invent a new flag (apparently - to my surprise - Italians, Koreans, Cubans and Romanians make up 13% of the population!).

Could form irregular troop divisions from the 3 million tourists pa. Use 'em as cannon fodder. :D

Just been sent a video of a car I'm picking up tomorrow.

That's if the v5c for the one I'm trading in turns up in time

I'm totally happy to take my mates bike for one, but if it's as basic as I suspect (and you've said) then that's a lot of money for very little!!
Tbf though doesn't the initial CT for bikes last 3 years?
I thought it was 2, but could be three - it's not so bad once I realised it was 2 (or 3?) years!! LOL

Finding a wallet at the side of the road. All the cards gone except a store card for a DIY place. There's €40 plus change and a £10 note.
A wee bit of detective work and I was able to find the guy on Facebook, contact him and tell him where I was so I could reunite him with his wallet.

Neighbours up the road have a couple of peacocks, as well as other fowl, and it amuses me to see them roosting on electricity poles or the house chimneys. They just look so incongruous.

They also frequently strut and display in the road.

I think that someone doesn't understand the concept of "deterrent".

Having a lazy day, just lounging in the chair out the back, when a little tortoiseshell cat makes an appearance, jumps onto my lap and settles down purring.

It was like we had known each other for years. 8-)

Isn't there a thing about cats preferring to sit on people who are about to die?

On my doormat when I got home 😀

Also- the Gordon Brown trust fund thing. Thought nothing of it. Eldest (18) checked and he had £1600 in there. From the government putting 2 x £250 into the fund back in 2006.

He’s currently enjoying the extra pocket money on his holiday with his mates 😂

I've reset the service indicator on my GS!

It only took a new ODB2 reader (cos my old one didn't do CANBUS) a ODB to BMW diag port adaptor and the MotoScan app.
