Re: Interesting little facts...
Before she retired, my sister was the top boss for births deaths and marriages on the Isle of Wight .
She used to marry couples at HMP parkhurst 2 or 3 times a year. She also married couples on one of those old forts in the channel. It was impossible to get to those forts in a ferrari or a porche. Boat or helicopter was the only way

I went to the Isle of Wight on a short holiday once, it was shit.
My sailing mate comes from there and he's got a sister, but I wouldn't brag about it, I think they breed in-house down there.
It's brown (rust) and grey. Not sure it was inter bred though.

The collective noun for sharks is 'a shiver'.

Re: Interesting little facts...
I was with a friend at Duxford a couple of years ago (he owns a small plane), we took off, climbed and turned left. We'd were flying straight and I thought I was paying attention, I never saw the Spitfire until it was going past on its way in to land. How anyone could pick a target and manoeuvre to shoot it down I have no idea.

The last time I flew over the Isle of Wight was in a piper commanchi or summat like that. We did a low level pass over queen vic’s old gaffe. Is that two seater spitfire still air worthy ?

We saw a Spitfire, a P51 Mustang, a Bristol and a Lynx fly over town today, all fairly low. No idea why.

Re: Interesting little facts...
More likely a Wildcat than a Lynx they look similar, they retired the Lynx ages ago (but then so is the P51 and the Spitty)

I'll go with what you say, I'm clueless. I just had a look on adsbexchange when they went over.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 7:12 pm More likely a Wildcat than a Lynx they look similar, they retired the Lynx ages ago (but then so is the P51 and the Spitty)

Spitfire.com have a few. There's at least 2 permanently at Westhampnett, and they fly from several other bases around the country.
