Those of you in the car selling game
Advert advice please.
Selling our snotter of a fiesta, 1.0 low miles but hail damaged on roof and passenger side.
Do I go for brutal honesty, with a touch of levity, or try and be cold and factual.
I should add it's a rhd car in France, so the customer base will be Brits. Cheap low mileage cars just don't exist here btw

If you're honest in the advertising, potential buyers will lose haggling opportunities.

I don't like wasting my time, so anyone coming to see something i'm selling will already know of any marks, dents, issues etc.

Re: Those of you in the car selling game
I've wasted too much time looking at 'nickel' cars that I'd have passed on if the description had been honest.
Wouldn't want anyone to come under any misapprehension as to condition.
But as most cars start at €3k for 300k+ 20yo dogs, hopefully it'll find a new home quickly.
To be honest.......wouldn't be too upset if it didn't sell!

I'd go for honest because icba with the whole wheeler dealer rubbish, I'm not spending hours dicking around trying to con someone out of an extra £500.
Unfortunately when you are buying they are the cars that are still for sale.

Re: Those of you in the car selling game
Ford Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost petrol 3 door manual for sale. CT 11/25
French regd but RHD. Economical little runaround (50+ mpg ave on the trip computer) Crit'air 1
Only done 51k miles
Unmarked interior
Heated screens, stop start, a/c, Bluetooth, CD player, 4 norauto cheapy! tyres last year
Now the BAD bits. It has significant hail damage from the storm 2 years ago. Roof, passenger wing, door and ¾ panel look like a sugar crazed 10 yo with a hammer has been near it.
Doesn't affect how the car drives, just aesthetically displeasing.
Only selling as we now have a dog and it's really not big enough for her, and we need something to tow with as well, and really need a proper 5 seater/4 door for those airport trips

Where my mate lives in the Midi Pyranees, there are very few vehicles that would be described as 'aesthetically pleasing'.

You never know, there may be some misguided French person planning a move to the UK.
My mate bought a LHD 4x4 over here to tow a trailer of stuff when they emigrated, and so they had LHD straight away when in France. There's a couple of companies that specialise in LHD.

To me 'significant' means structural damage. I'd leave that word out but the sugar crazed 10 year old can stay.Sadlonelygit wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 9:58 am Ford Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost petrol 3 door manual for sale. CT 11/25

Re: Those of you in the car selling game
Oh god!
Forgot what a cesspool of shithousery advertising stuff on the internet is!
Lots of Mike Brewer wannabees and a couple of Drew Pritchard's as well.
Still have to sift through the dross to find the genuine interest!
What happened to Trade-it, out on a Friday lunchtime, anything decent sold by Saturday!
