I'm in Kent having emptied M's apartment in Devon yesterday. We'd been there since last Monday packing, taking stuff to charity shops and recycling etc and let me tell you, if she ever gives off to me again about hoarding 'stuff' we're going to fall out!

Her brother is bringing the van round shortly and we'll empty it into storage.

We fly back to Turkey tomorrow with half the apartment in our suitcases. I'm away again on Thursday to a 3 night astronomy event 7000 ft up a hill.

It's only hoarding when it's someone else's stuff.

We did that with my late MIL's flat in Bridgnorth. Who knew you could fit so much vital 'stuff' into a really modest one-bed flat?
We ended up with an impromptu 'free stall' on market day to get rid of the items that the charity shops were too snooty about. Amusing how funny people-on-the-street are aboutbeing offered stuff for free.

It is. Owners need to be really clear in their mind, and to the dog, about what they're trying to achieve. And potential pitfalls.

For example:
Stage 1. Dog does unwanted activity. Dog follows instruction to stop, so is rewarded
Stage 2. Dog does unwanted activity, stops of own accord, looks at owner for reward.
Dog has trained owner.

We have a 5 month old Westie puppy. They're not renowned for being the brightest of dogs.

But, when he wants to, he now knows sit, stay, wait, safe, close, come, boom (circle an obstacle), drop, leave.

And he's leaned how to use stage 2 on us ...

I do!! Well, a 13.7sqm studio!!  Someone said the other day "have a really big clear out before you move" - well, if/when I move, everything I have will fit in a corner of any place I get (trying to get a one bed 'council' apartment!)!! I'll have sooooooo much space! LOL

For me, I know I've kept things I might not use, BUT, for almost 7 years I've not had space or physical ability to do the hobbies I used to do but didn't want to throw anything out incase I might have space/ability to do stuff again!!

But it's the size of a garage, so if anyone had to clear it out it's not the end of the world! :angelic-green: :angelic-green:

Had a flying visit from one of Gremlinette's ex-boyfriends. Really nice young lad, doing really well in his job as a set builder for exhibitions, etc. He brought around a load of stupidly expensive shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc for Gremlinette* from the last job he'd done. Found out it was him dropped a load of Nespresso stuff outside our house a few weeks ago, too. He was doing something for both Breitling and Rolls Royce recently, but alas, no freebies there.

He back off to Ibiza soon as he's now involved in building nightclub sets at Pascha, as well as the exhibition stuff, and will be in charge of the company out there for 8 months. Really nice to a see him doing well and clearly loving life.

Wifey got caught by a camera van in Wales and did her speed awareness course from a campsite in Spain. Apparently it was my fault she got caught, I should have told her to slow down.

She got caught again last year by a camera on a French motorway, just a fine for that one. I was asleep in the passenger seat at the time but seem to have escaped the blame.

Had a brain fart is what I did...

Decided to just hose the dust off the SBH & it ended up looking worse than when I started. Bugger.

Had to wash the entire car...Double bugger

It was already 103deg out there at 9.30am, Triple bugger.

Had to take down a dead conifer today & found this in the aftermath.

I felt lousy for having disturbed it. Relocated it as close as I could to where I think it came from.

Beautiful looking little thing.

Morbid I know, but where do they bury dead people on the island. Our cemeteries are on the west side as it's sandy and not peat.
