Oh 100%. But most people go to use aerobic machines like cycles, treadmills etc. Apparently for that it's better to go for a good long walk - unless you'll do an hour on each machine and that would probably make you very unpopular with other people at the gym!! A mate of mine (was a personal trainer in the uk) told me to just walk. Unless you are weightlifting to build specific muscles, he said that walking 5km, even gently but without stopping, is better than going between the aerobic machines (cycling, rowing, cross trainer etc!).
Equally, walking is apparently good for bone density - but basic weight training is very good, apparently!
