Home chroming
17mins and 22min, the guy re-chromes the petrol tank cap and side panels.
I've only ever seen it done on a much larger scale with dip tanks.
The way he does it looks like magic!
Re: Home chroming
Interesting, I'd like to know how that works, I've got bantam that lived in a shed and the chrome on the tank is shabby.
Made me cringe when he took the clutch cover off with a chisel/screwdriver though.

Re: Home chroming
One of the most relaxing vids I've ever watched. Great to view without enduring someone else's taste in music banging away. That bike seemed to come apart very easily despite looking like a seabed rescue. Obviously been cared for before being abandoned.

Re: Home chroming
I thought I'd have a quick look, you know, skip through the boring bits, see the end result.
Then I'd reached the end, hadn't skipped a second, and it was dark outside.
Great watch!

Re: Home chroming
Hammering a screwdriver into the joint. Made me cringe too.
This is just as bad.
Re: Home chroming
I watched a review on some spray chrome which looked impressive and hard wearing by Alsa.
When i looked it up a 500ml tin was 700 dollars. Not sure how much 1/2 ltr would do though.

Re: Home chroming
Having owned a CZ/Jawa a few years ago, I'm suprised everything came undone so easily- mine looked no worse, but every fastening eas a rusty as could be, and resulted in many snapped bolts.

Re: Home chroming
Someone was importing them a few years ago, but they were too expensive. Can't remember who it was but at the time I remember you could buy quite a nice 2nd hand modern bike for the price.
Duh, just googled

Re: Home chroming
I have often wondered if they actually still sell those bikes here - there's no way that a brand new 2-stroke Jawa will meet Euro5!! Is there some dispensation for registering one-off bikes that don't meet the standards?? Anyone know?Ian wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 10:35 am Someone was importing them a few years ago, but they were too expensive.
