Car thread - which one?

I expected it to be nice but I honestly didn’t want to get out of it, it’s a genuinely gorgeous thing to drive, incredibly engaging and whilst you have to really switch on and drive it, it’s not hard work or tiring. You need to understand it’s character and meet it halfway and then it seems to be telepathic, you don’t push it about or force anything, you need the lightest touch on the steering wheel and think about which way you want to go and she goes there.

It’s got loads of torque, it’s a 3.3L so it’ll cruise around nicely, and then when that turbo kicks in it’s warp speed Mr Sulu. Lovely surges, nothing harsh at all, just a really big push from behind.

It’s a marvel, it really is, bags and bags of character, it lived up to all my teenage expectations and then some. I’m in love

I know I'm biased but I really think it is.
I'm torn between the 930 and the 964 as the best 911 ever, they're mostly the same car to the eye, although apparently the 964 has a lot of differences and the 964 Turbo is very rare and even more expensive.

But yeah I'm happy with how this looks.

If I had the money - I'd have that in a shot.

(sadly my Porsche prospects are limited to cheap slush-box Boxsters. )

My mate is selling a Cayman that is one of the fastest and scariest things I've been out in, some bloke spent big money on the engine and built a missile, then (not sure why) he's selling it. He took me out in it the other day and scared the life out of me (he's raced Porsches for years), the car sounds and goes like a race car.
Anyway it's for sale at £17,500 and I'd have it without even thinking about it, but I don't have room for it.

I'd dread to think what the insurance premium would be on something like that. (but it sounds great!)

Guards Red, I think they called it, anyway the only colour for a Porsche, although my mate had one in white with martini stripes along the side and wheel arches which looked gorgeous!

I think you’d be very lucky to see it out, I do a few hundred miles a year in my fun cars/bikes if I’m lucky.

Its a car, one of the well known brands, it’s a new 2024 model, unobtainable for anyone who isn’t famous or mega rich so you have to buy a flipped one with a massive premium - like a Rolex watch.

Its not a Singer, they’re a million plus now I think.

Re: Classic electrics. One of those conversion firms is pretty much next door to us (just by chance) and they have a waiting list of more than a year....

They can't afford our drivetrains though

Surely if you're prepared to have a car built, you'd have a bike built too ? So the fact the XSR hasn't got Ohlins is literally a few hours for a bike place to sort and a couple of quid.
