Hung the last of the new doors, the bedrooms now have solid and not 3/4 glazed door, clear glass too. The bathroom and toilets also had clear glass in the windows. This place isn't that secluded.

Now I have to fit the door handles.

LOL. They'd messed up on the loan car booking. After a while they said 'We've only got a Ford Ranger'.

(It's a blinged up MS-RT and looks about the size of a small American state...but drives like a Frontera ).

I paid £330 for my Ovlov, it was a month before the warranty expired, so I wanted them to find problems. They didn't.

It's the last dealer service it's getting. I'll get an indy or do it myself going forwards.

I only paid £500 for the 'B' service on my SL which included the plugs (X6), all filters and the brake fluid changed. It was an indy, but one that could update the online digital service record with MB (MB wanted 900 for the same service).

Cheap! You should see what and Rover want to fleece me for and for my next service, that's all I get!

Yesterday I rode to the valley to pick up a work vehicle and do a transfer from there back up here. So I left the bike in the depot as I'm doing an early transfer tomorrow morning. But this morning the sun was shining, so I got up and hitched down to get the bike! LOL Luckily didn't have to walk too far

Had a short ride (two hurty shoulders at the mo, but my fave physio I back today, so seeing him tomorrow ) and came home

Now going to have a go at some wholemeal baguettes. Ok, I won't get to bake them till tomorrow afternoon, but at least if they are in the fridge ready, I can have bread when I get home (Well, a couple of hours after I get home )

The forecast is aces for Thursday, so hoping to do a little trip with a mate - hopefully she'll be up for getting up early as when I picked the bike up at 9am, there were already 'millions' of bikes around!! I'd rather be sitting having coffee by the time they all start out

For Jaguars over 3 years old they do a fixed price service. The LR website says the same but doesn't give a price, just to contact your dealer for the 'fixed' price.
Watch the invoice and get the quote in writing, I found they like to try and charge more. The last time I went into JLR for brakes I had to send them back 3 times before they found the correct price.

I've been doing a bit of cable management on my main imaging rig. This has involved sourcing custom length USB cables, making my own ST4 cables and wrapping them up to make them look pretty.

It hasn't ever happened to me but the mount has enough torque to damage cables and components or even pull the whole rig over if a cable were to snag.

Today I have been trying to work out how to keep my shed cool, it's insulated with double layer foil and reflective film on the windows but with an extractor running all day it still hit 35 degrees inside. Solar gain is a pig.
I tried draping it in a shade sail but that made no difference, I thought that would be a game changer.
I have aircon which isn't on today so when I'm working it will probably be comfortable but I'd love to find a way to make life easier for the aircon. All I'm coming up with is a fan to blow air through the space between roof and insulation, that's going to be fiddly as it would have to be mounted on the outside blowing air through a small gap.

Oh yeah. The service includes brake fluid and A/C filter change. My car is the same - alternate services cost more.

+ (In the confusion it appears they didn't charge for the loan wagon).

As it turned out they decided the mileage was so low it didn't need the b/f or the A/C filter changing so the cost went down.

(The missus has been trawling through reviews of pick-up trucks and looking at prices - she liked the Ford Ranger ).

Offhand, the only tourist place I know that has biker/bicyclist lockers is the Eden Project.

I just found out that on a permanent contract here you get 5 weeks holiday!! Five! FIVE!!!!

I'd mentioned that I'd prefer to have a 10 month contract (so the 10 months wages would be spread over 12 months) cos I kinda like having time off in between seasons!

But, if I can have five weeks holiday, I reckon that's pretty good!!! Still might reduce in the future, but for now it's an awesome way back to the level playing field!! LOL

Forgot something about yesterday - went for a coffee at a boulangerie I sometimes stop at. Sat outside with my coffee, near an old local. Damn, everytime I think I'm getting the hang of speaking French I have a conversation with someone that is very challenging! The old buggers around here full on properly 'mangent leurs dents' when they talk - and this one had no teeth to eat!

I responded to everything he said - just not necessarily in the way I should have cos I didn't always know exactly what he said
