Friday thread... the SUMMMMMMMMER one.

Post by weeksy »

I won't be about tomorrow, so you're getting it today instead.

Thurs. BBQ and a few beers i think is the plan.
Fri. Up early doors and driving to Antur Stiniog for a day on the hill with the crazy and 100 other crazies. Set up camp/base/gazebo and a few beers.
Sat. Race practice day for the boy. Qualifying at 2pm or so for him, then chilling with mexican and beer.
Sun. Race day from about 1pm after a morning of practice. Then eventually a 4+ hour drive back home lol

Friday: finish last night shift, drop road bike off at LBS for new gear/brake cables and bar tape. Walk doggies.
Saturday: chill out with Mrs M, MTB in the forest, maybe BBQ or steak night
Sunday: more MTB possibly (E) and pub stop.
Monday: day off and birthday beer.🍺🍺

Happy to oblige with an early Friday thread as today is effectively Friday for me:

Today, usual work from home, I’ll be finishing early as I finished late yesterday and I have to attend a meeting tomorrow
Friday, an hour’s teams meeting for work, hopefully finalising my father’s estate as the house sale is due to complete by lunchtime, new multi-fuel burner is being installed and I’m building a new workbench / outfeed table, just like this:

Rest of Friday and weekend, juggling doggy day care with decorating one bedroom, clearing another room and touching up the paintwork, ordering new beds and usual domestic chores.

I think that’s everything… :)

Leaving early to watch footie today
Tomorrow WFH then off to a huge greek restaurant for dinner tomorrow night.
Saturday oil and filters on the x-adv and a check of brake pads etc blah. Then some general domestic chores about the house, window cleaning etc.
If it's nice will get "The Dads" over for a BBQ either saturday or sunday.

Shed, making more storage space. Maybe powerwash the paving slabs, make a raised bed, I don't know. It's bound to be really exciting whatever it is.

Today I went out and bought a new HJC flip lid. Got a good price and it is comfortable, nice sun visor shield thing too. Then out to see a friend for an amazing spicy lunch, back home for gardener to mow the lawn and sort some weeds. Then looking at taking wife shopping.

Friday, Eucharist at the school, followed by me sleeping a bit late morning! Do some cleaning in the house.

Saturday: Whatever I am told to do.

Sunday: Two services, I'm not preaching, so just taking the service! Afternoon of relaxing and drinking Gin and tonic (or so I sincerely hope after walking the dog for two hours!).

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

So much for summer, I think I missed it!! :( :(

Today - I managed to get on the bike and go down for physio, it rained. Rode back after physio, it rained. Doing cross stitch this evening, in between doing a couple of exercises the physio gave me!!

Tomorrow - it's Fete de la Musique on Friday and a few friends are playing at different venues in the valley. So if it doesn't rain, I'll head down and have a listen!! Need to do some walking too and get back into that. And some cross stitching

Saturday - forecast is cloudy, so I might head up to the Col de Petit St Bernard for a coffee, if the back allows. Need to do some walking again :D And some cross stitching

Sunday - similar forecast, but I suspect I'll just go walking and cross stitching

I'll be very happy to see summer when it gets it's arse out of it's sodding hangover/hibernation cave!!
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

Friday morning I have to leave in the car to get the aircon regassed.

Saturday to drive to Dublin's fair city to pick up Aussie boi who is home for daughter's wedding next weekend. Eldest lad will be home next week too,so a full house for a while.Be good to see them.

The bikes may not get much use for a while, unless I can sneak out......

How often do you need air-con? :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Sadly not very often at all,but a 200 mile car trip gets pretty horrible when you get too warm and sticky, which strangely it is to be on Saturday.

Dunno how, but our mighty Dacia Duster has an air-con system which doesn't need filling.

We have it on half the year, and just works.

Friday:
Bunk off work early and go and visit mum in hospital (she collapsed on Tuesday with low sodium levels, following an operation on Monday). She's getting better, slowly👍

Then drive up to Manchester to see Green Day, stopping off en route to catch up with an ex-work mate 😎

Saturday/Sunday:
Lie-ins, pack for holidays, mow, bimble about.

Monday:
Fly to Bulgaria 👍😎

If you RTFM, you'll see that you're supposed to use the aircon every couple of weeks, if you need it or not.

Leave it too long and the seals dry up and all the refrigerant leaks out.

I've got to take my mother and cat to the vets on Sat, after a failed visit on Wednesday when the vet was too scared to touch the cat.

I was going to get the pink GSXR MOT'd so I could impress at the opening of a new local bike shop, but that depends on how long the vet trip is.

The afternoon is an open day at the wife's new job, that she only started on Monday, so I should probably make the effort.

Sunday is drugs and hookers.

Friday, early shift so up at 0430!
Saturday, Sunday and Monday is lates so lie in time😎
Unfortunately we are closing the M1 northbound at junction 18 from Friday 2100 to Monday 0600. The southbound will only have 2 lanes out of 4 running. All northbound traffic will leave and rejoin at J18.
I expect to be busy!
So much to look forward to.
Have fun, enjoy whatever you’re up to.
