Honda Sh300. I've had a few and took one up to 85k miles and it was still running perfectly when I sold it. TBF it was fun as you could nip through traffic with unbelievable agility, but it wasn't an exciting bike to look at or own. They are such a brilliant commuter that at times i question why I have the x-adv as I only use it the same way I use a Sh300, i.e. commuting duties only.

That gen of ABS simply didn't work with soft sprung forks.
Yeah. Serves me right for buying a bike with boingy forks (and a funny oily chain thingy where the shaft drive should be :o ).
I've been looking at the later 2017 onwards f800gt versions, so hopefully the ABS would be sorted by then 🤔

Laverda Jota - must have been expecting too much as I just didn't enjoy it at all. Not that fast and it felt like sitting on a plank perched on top of an anvil.

I have a 2013 800GT never had a problem with the ABS , bike is a little boring but does everything it should very well.
Economy is very good , belt drive makes it quiet a cruising speeds , brakes are good , gears are slick ect it just
doesn't do anything exciting.

XS400....utter crap and used for courier work till it blew up twice in a fortnight

BMW R65.... no fairing, underpowered and heavy but used for courier work till i got another job then immediately sold

Even my current 800 quid 23 year old Fazer 600 can still make me smile on my daily commute on the windy country roads till i get to the dual carriageway

I never got on with the Ducati 600SS and Monster 600. The 400 versions were even worse IMO. Too slow and very limited steering lock. And the SSs were really uncomfortable.

It is a personal thing. I have very fond memories of Honda's XL185 which was, of course, much slower. It did wheelie very nicely though.
