Got 23 grand laying around? Triumph may have just the ticket, launching a special-edition Speed Triple 1200RR in collaboration with Swiss watchmaker Breitling.

Just 270 will be produced, with made-to-order watches being available to those who drop their hard-earned dosh on the ultra-premium British roadster.

Performance will be unchanged from the existing 1200RR model, with the same 178bhp of thrust on tap, although an Akrapovič silencer should sweeten the acoustics.

The high-spec exhaust isn’t the only change, it’ll feature a premium paint scheme with gold hand-painted detailing, a smattering of carbon-fibre, luxury leather seat with French stitching, Breitling start up screen, Breitling logo laser-etched onto the rear wheel finisher, and a distinct gold Breitling badge on the tank.

Horologists among you will be pleased to hear that the accompanying Chronomat B01 42 Triumph watch is described as: “A fusion of titanium and 18k red gold with an anthracite dial.”

Triumph CEO Nick Bloor said: “We’ve united two worlds, delivering shared passions for precision, speed, and style.”

If you spend £23 grand on one then you are allowed to buy the watch too !!

I wonder how many watch fans will buy the bike, just so they can get the watch ?

The cynic in me say's this is just a way of selling bikes that Triumph can't currently sell for love nor money. You can pick up a 1200RR for a massive discount cos they aren't selling, so if Triumph manage to flog them for 23k just by sticking a few bits on then that's a genius move. IF they sell them.

It's a fair looking bike in the half light. The watch connection was lost on me as I'd never heard of them and 23 bags of sand is a bit over the top for a badly selling machine. I shudder to imagine the resale value.

Maybe it's the watch worth 23k and the bike is free?

Can you imagine the kind of dreadful arsehole that will buy that and the watch? Easily, sadly.

The difference being Ducati especially don't struggle to sell their standard bikes and so the specials are even more appealing to some.

The 1200RR has been a massive flop I've seen them up new with £4-5k lopped off the price. MCN even had an article about how cheap you can buy them. Here's a case in point. Brand new £5.2k off retail....and it's still for sale.
https://www.bikesinstock.co.uk/bikes-fo ... 217338.htm

So the ideal of making a special and sticking £5k on top of the £18k price it's not selling for is genius if it works. Cos they sure as shit can't sell the standard ones!

Tried to find a price for the watch. Other limited editions of that model are about £8k but I couldn't find that one.

It's not an eye wateringly silly package as some of the bike 'specials' though. So maybe it is just to clear stock as suggested?

Looking on the Triumph site just now it looks like it's the only version of the RR still available.

Co-branding... it's such a stale concept.

It gets worse... it appears that Triumph has filed a listing with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for a new Elvis Presley Edition Triumph Bonneville.

What next? A Biker Mice from Mars special edition??

Wonder what watch you'd pair 'em with? Something with a lacy strap? :D
