Friday thread, i've run out of funny quips

Post by weeksy »

Well, they probably weren't that amusing anyway.

Fri. is WFH and wait in for some garden furniture. Me and the boy are solo as Mrs Weeksy are out, so depending on weather it'll be pub for tea maybe or take-away
Sat. MTBing with Crust and cake/beer
Sun. FoD racing for the boy, back to the old FoD races and some fun.

Was meant to be going on our early summer hols, but the missus has tweaked an ankle so we're delaying it until she can manage airports and holiday shenanigans.

So, reasonably quiet weekend, finish off some DIY jobs.

Might hire a little boat and zip up and down the coast today, then Elvis is playing the Golden Beach Bar tonight!

Tomorrow, more beer, more food, Sunday get the big metal bird home.

I don't have exciting weekends, I've worked hard to be boring.
I've not had to work at it, I was lucky enough to have be born with the gift.

I try not to do dull though.

Haircut in a while and then putting some diesel in the camper as we're away the weekend with the In-Laws in their caravan. So some coastal walks, pub food and possibly even a bbq.

Gremlinette comes home from Manny today. Not sure when, but then she probably doesn't either. She doesn't do schedules or time-keeping.

Saturday we're up and out to the gym, then back home, drop the dog at the dog-sitter's then come back and scrub up for my sister's wedding. Staying over in a hotel in sunny Maidstone, so I'm sure a few bevvies will be sunk.

Sunday will be a case of getting out, getting home, getting the hound and getting over the hangover.

You could title the thread,'It's not a bad Friday for March'. It's been unseasonably cold the past week, temps down to 3°or 4°c overnight and struggling to break into double figures during the day. Add in a brisk NW wind with frequent showers and it feels very unlike June.

Mrs.Skub and I may go out for a meal this evening, apart from that I have nothing planned. Hope to get some biking in,it's been shit since last Sunday, but I'm not hopeful.

Out for a friends 50th tonight - they've hired a pub out so may be a little messy

Sat - may or may not be nursing a sore head. Car needs tracking done a probably balancing too, so will find somewhere to rip me off then hopefully chill out for the afternoon.

Sun - still got to finish study for my RYA skipper ticket, we fly out in just over a week!

In the process of loading the bike, off to the F’s, then relaxing. Saturday same which will probably involve gardening and drinking a bottle of Mauritian Dry Cane Liquor I was given for helping to repatriate a lost cat!!
Sunday, off to London to empty her daughter’s flat ready for completing next week, fingers crossed, fix the toilet while I’m there.
Monday, take the van back.
Tuesday, on the bike to Control Room in Nottingham for a meeting, then home.
Busy few days.
Enjoy it, the suns out!!

My daughter ad that 2 or 3 times and it took 18 months to finalise and complete. Fortunately te house market was on its arse or the builders she was buying from would have dropped her and she'd have lost the £5k upgrades they had paid for. :wtf: Its a very stressful process for sure. Hope it works out quickly for you!

Today: WFH as per. Might mow the lawn this evening so it doesn't take a chunk of the weekend.

Saturday: Buy some lime plaster if we can get to the place before they close at 12pm - big if, as lie-in plus dog walk plus a 45 min drive doesn't allow much leeway 😬
Take a VW 4motion thing for a test drive to see if it might suit us as a replacement for the current Audi Quattro.

Sunday: listen to/watch the RAF Cosford airshow from our place for a bit (we'll likely bimble on the quad over to a better viewing spot on our neighbours land).🛩️

Eucharist at the school in the morning then doing admin work. The local council came back to me saying that I have to pay for a tree to be trimmed in the closed churchyard. Apparently they don't know the law that a closed churchyard means that the council is responsible for the trees, boundary walls, mowing of grass and care of headstones etc... I've happily sent them chapter and verse.

Bought the study guides I need for the next lot of Bible Studies, we are studying the book of Ruth.

Working on some services and my PCC meeting for Monday evening.

Saturday is morning prayers, then walking the dog and then hopefully a nice meal with a beer!

Sunday, services as usual, then a quiet afternoon's snooze!

Friday, walked dogs, fitted boot liner to car, stripped road bike back wheel as it was a bit noisy, admitted defeat and took it to the LBS for TLC, walked dogs again and then put Mrs M's Levo of Doom Ebike on charge as it was only about 50% full, poxy thing won't turn on again after charging. FFS.

Sat, ride to work over the Downs, 12HR day, then maybe ride home or train if I'm not feeling it.

Sunday, 12HR day at work, might use the ZH2 for commuting.

Dealing with egotistical people who need to be trimmed to size, but I'm in the business of loving them... Lord have mercy!

I should write a book!
