Alguena Road Race, Spain

Post by Whysub »

Anyone over in Spain (Alicante area) in the last week of June, its worth taking a ride/drive to the road race in Alguena, 60 kms from Alicante.

It on 30th June, 8.30 to 14.00 I checked with the Town Hall who confirmed 30th June this year (despite what the web page says).

Classes for two stroke 80cc GP bikes, two stroke classics, plus 450cc Supermotos racing through the narrow and tight streets of the village. €5 entrance fee in 2023 which included a natty a baseball cap, so expect the same this year.

Looks very similar to La Baneza (august).
That's free and mainly classic Spanish stuff with a 125 2t race to finish the Sunday off.
Been to that one many moons ago, bit bloomin hot in August though!

La Baneza is 10 hours from me, so I'll give that a miss seeing as its in August. Very similar too, as the Alguena circuit is within the town limits. Its great when everything, bar the Supermoto class is all two stroke bikes.

I've got a friend down NR Mojacar who needs visiting!
Only thing is we've spent the holibobs budget on Italy this year, so perhaps pencil it in for 2025

Just had a look at La Bañeza, the racing is on the 10th and 11th of August. Which is exactly the same weekend as I'll be driving up for a week's camping west of Gijon. 🙂
