Had two calls with BT re my ongoing issues with their Broadband.

First call, lady tells me it's all the devices I have on the wifi network. I explain that the PC is using a CAT6 cable into the hub, and that runs slow, so it can't be the wifi. She struggles with this for a bit before agreeing. I offer to send screengrabs of speed tests. She insists the only one they accept is their own, and that it looks fine now. I remind her that this is an intermittent fault. After telling me there was nothing she could I asked to speak to her line manager whenavailable.

Second call from the manager. I start by telling her that at 12.20 I have a screengrab of the BT. Wholesale speed test showing I have c. 3mbps download speed and another one 10 minutes later showing 35mbps. 'Really?' she says, 'That's odd. I think we need to get an engineer to your property'. Finally, the scales have fallen from BT's eyes.

Bearing in mind this has been going on for some months, with umpteen phone calls, a 'Tech Guru' home visit, an upgrade to the service, plus a new hub...there was no record of any issues relating to my account.

Well I have a KTM sitting forlornly in my garage ATM.
Young lad, 3 yo bike non runner. Pop it into 1st, roll it along, wheel turns, hmmmmm
Last KTM I worked on was my 250exc, and the few times I laid spanners on it, it was a joy to work on.
This little duke however, was designed by satan himself. I decided it would be easier to drop the motor for unfettered access, but that eventually involved releasing the rear subframe to move the airbox out the way!
Anyway, we've found the issue!

Reclaimed a spare bedroom by moving my home office back into a corner of the dining room. Desk has had a refresh by adding a wider & deeper desk top courtesy of a trip to ikea. I’ve now got room to do paperwork without having to shift the keyboard out of the way.

Ikea have a new desk range called mittzon (iirc) which comes with a handy, or so I thought, rear extension which has a hole for cables and another for either a desk tidy or 3 gang extension paddle.

However, the desk tidy / clip in section for the extension paddle is only available as part of the full rise & fall leg assembly :wtf: I only found this out after lugging it all home and searching online for the extra parts as I couldn’t find them in store. A further googling showed a 3D print model was available on thingiverse and some lovely people in Portugal are currently manufacturing it for me.

I just need to relocate the two cabinets which house the home media server, CCTV PVR, printer, stationery and filing etc from the bedroom to dining room so I can tidy up the corner where the rats nest of router, cat 5 cables, various hubs (hive, Phillips hue etc) are currently located.

:)

I'm cat sitting, and whilst moggy is fairly friendly, he suffers a cuddle if I pick him up, but aside from that, he just comes to check on me in the loo and will check on where I am in whatever room I'm in, but hasn't ever sat with or on me :(

Tonight I get the full treatment in total cat style! Firstly, bum in the face, cos, well, that's what is done apparently!!

Then, I did get full on head rubs - but with elbows firmly in my boobs!!

But, I'll take the weird cat cuddles cos he purred as well!!

This is my second week of cat sitting for the moggy and I've finally been graced with cuddles

Sent a snotty email to KTM customer services asking how a bike came back from a dealer service with 2 leaking fork seals, an air filter with a nest in it and a broken engine mount.
Awaiting their reply........

How many of those faults did it have when it went in for service?

Maybe it was the 10k miles 'replace air filter nest' service. I hope they used a genuine KTM nest. :D

Guessing all of them as the motor shat itself within 10 miles of the service (which you can't blame on the dealership).
I'm just picking up the pieces.

My 690 did similar! Its a known issue with that engine, looks like it might be the same for the smaller engines too?

Gassed up the F350 AGAIN...
Friday was $78.00
Today was $78.51

But I only filled the front tank & squeezed a bit into the rear. TBF, I did 215 miles over the weekend & I was lead-footing it quite a bit.

Just threw a bid on this:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1983- ... gpz1100-2/

It will probably exceed my $3000 limit* at some point in the next 24 hours.

*ok, maybe $3500... tops.

Today is a day of mixed emotions. My daughter and her other half just completed on their new house and my son just had his offer on a flat accepted. Super happy for them all and proud of them too, but the prices are phone numbers and I feel sad they've had to take on that level of debt just to get on the housing ladder. I guess it'll even out by the time they get to my age, but fook me that's a chunk of change for a few square meters of England! :wtf:

Agree, it's crap for current generation to get on the ladder.
Both my step-kids have decent trust funds to help them, my lad doesn't unfortunately so I'm planning that any inheritance I get will go straight to my lad or possibly towards purchase of a flat.

Ever since Baby D was born we've been putting a chunk away every month with a general view to it being for her first house. Maybe.

I figure that I'm lucky with how house prices ans interest have fallen for me. She might not be, so I'm 'deferring' some of the benefits of my luck towards her.
