Just a quick observation - David Alonso, the young Colombian Moto3 rider, was a full second faster than the next rider in FP1. Someone in MotoGP needs to get him signed up on a long term deal, and quickly.

Young Pedro Acosta was flying on his first ever ride then on a MotoGP bike.

Definitely one to watch for the future.

It's a pity the UK couldn't breed a few more talented youngsters. We seem to have the 'nearly men' genre well covered.

And in FP2 Alonso lowers the previous absolute Moto3 lap record by a scarcely believable 1.4 seconds, over half a second clear of the rest of the field. And he seems a really likeable lad to boot.

I've raced and watched racing 44 years.
Very rarely had super heroes or super villains like football I suppose.
I always wanted the race to be fun and didn't care who won. I was the winner.

But somehow I can't warm to Pecco Bagnaio. He just annoys me a bit. Fucking good though.

But this sort of thing is why he annoys me a bit. Not the first time.

Pecco strikes me as very similar in attitude to Alain Prost, the F1 driver, known as 'the Professor'. Very calculating, keeps the emotion out of it. He raced in the same era as Ayrton Senna, but the two were totally different in temperament.

Very much this, Lswsonesque in his approach to racing and not quite the drama queen that some others are. So he gets my vote

Moto3 was the best entertainment,followed by Moto2. The start was the best part in Motogp. I spent more time watching the birds at the feeders in the garden,while Emmett and Hodgson talked bollox about imaginary reducing gapzzzzzz.

Not a Mugello classic for sure.

You should have all watched redbull hard-line, now that was exciting
