I agree the 250 will stay longest as it has a use for green laning, The tracer is very nice and had a big discount and helped me out of the 500x. If I don’t do much road riding the tracer can go next summer. I haven’t really got a use for much beyond the 250 and a bike for portimao so who knows what will turn up for that trip

It’s a 7/10 as it’s dirty in all the places people don’t clean them and there’s some corrosion on rear shock but that’s going anyway, exhaust will come off and be blasted and it’ll get a deep clean then I’ll be happy

Was this inspired by the 44 Teeth Italian Bargain thingy video someone posted the otherday?
I wasn't a fan of the ergo's on the 999, but iirc you raced an 749, which is basically the same thing, right?
I should hope not as the dyno runs were not exactly kind to the 999 Fagan bought .... i know couchy raced the 749's and loved them so i doubt its anything to do with outright power, more to do with the overall handling etc
I really didn't like them when new, but they've massively grown on me. The turning point was seeing a 999R at a steam train open day in Essex which I took the kids to, it looked incredible.
I really thought very hard about buying a 749 when I bought my 690. I was looking at ads for both. Weeksy's servicing bills put me off. At the time 749s especially were pretty cheap, they've increased a fair bit in price since then.
Yeah our bill was a bit of a stinger... It only went in for a bit of bad fuelling and a service and came out £800 lighter, with the 748S before that being £1200 when it went in due to rocker/cam issues.
That was the reason i sold the 848 race bike at the time, it was going to need a £1000 bill in the next 12 months, so it went.
But, all of this said, i'd happily own another... I'd just have to pre-plan a few finances to make it viable.
