I took part in a rolling roadblock for the funeral of one of our lot. Loads of bikes from classics though scooters to Harleys. 20 miles from the undertakers to the cemetery.

Not as much as I should have! Cooked some potatoes and carrots for the freezer
I did some more sorting including finding some crochet things I'd made. Two fo the girls up here have had kids and I knew I had some baby stuff I can give as gifts for the littlies.
Anyway, sorted out the girlie bag and then realised that the blanket for the little boy was a little bit too pink
So I've spent most of the rest of the day making a start on a 'boy' coloured baby blanket!! It isn't really, it's halloween colours, but hopefully they won't work that out! But at least it won't be pink!!

Took my voucher, that I received for doing an ONS survey, to the Post Office and received a crisp tenner by way of thanks.
Also had a call from Mappin & Webb telling me the Rolex I went on their waiting list for about five years ago is now available. Told them thanks, but no thanks.

How many of them would you need for the Rolex?

Another 1,374. The survey involved me sitting in my kitchen and answering questions about pensions, finances, cost of living, etc. Dragged on for about 45 minutes. By the end I would have given the bloke a tenner to feck off. Once was enough.Yorick wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2024 3:48 pmDid they give you a £10 postal order?gremlin wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2024 3:42 pm Took my voucher, that I received for doing an ONS survey, to the Post Office and received a crisp tenner by way of thanks.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Had an enjoyable afternoon in the smoke.
Said hello and exchanged pleasantries with the Park Lane BMW Motorrad boss, who i know of old, sat on a couple of R12ninet s. (Weird moniker). Seems like it could be a nice bike, quite low seat, and nicer wide bars, but £14K is sheer urine extraction.
Popped into a couple of boutiques on Oxford St.
I may have bought myself a little birthday extravagance.... Had a slap up dinner in Brasserie of Light, bloody good nosh.
Delayed trains means we're STILL on the way home.....

Wasted the entire frigging day sorting flat batteries on the F350 because some muppet left an overhead light on when he last drove it on Sunday... FFS.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Brought this back to life. Left it on the optimate overnight and she fired up straight away this morning. Tyres were a bit low and it needs petrol. I've pumped the tyres up and if I can get it booked in for an MOT will get juice on the way. Forgot how much i love the look of this bike and boy does that IL4 spin up quick with a nice snarl from the Scorpion! Lovely bike but I know I have no use for it, so its being sold.

Tis a nice looking bike. I'd put in an offer if it didn't mean losing both my testicles to a carving knife.

I don't think Giles Coren is in fear of his job, having read that.Rockburner wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2024 11:46 pm

I just told the wife its being sold. She went and said, "Oh great, what have you bought now"! Seems no one believes my bike buying days are over!

Many happy returns for whenever it is/was.

Re: What have you done today thread?
School assembly with Governor's awards. Then met with someone to discuss pause in their ordination process, and about to take a funeral for a choir member who was killed because of a car crash (drug addled driver smashed into her), and a Thanksgiving service for her in our church tonight at 6:30pm. I've had a very busy few days and am glad to be off tomorrow!

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.
