I've had these sitting on a shelf for the past year, and now the brake lever has landed I can fit them but I've gone off 'em
So dice rolled that a German place that says it has stock of alternative unobtanium pegs actually does and order placed.
Then I'm done, everything cosmetic or ergonomic wise that I wanted to do will have been achieved, it's all cams, pistons and jugs if I want to do anything else in the future.
I'm not saying I like putting things off, but I really should make a decision on which pegs to fit.
5000 cough6000cough mini service done, dropped all 3 oils and replaced with fully synthetic.
What an absolute fucking ball ache of a job I've never had an oil change take so long and spilled so much oil in all my life.
Having 3 holes is theoretically a good thing, you can use specific oil for a specific task, but who ever positioned the various drain and fill points, and decided on a horizontal oil filter needs a kick in the ball sack

Are they still using the same drain hole locations from 1930?
Bugger.
I'd picked up a part worn for the back to last me until the front needed doing and then the plan was to swap them out as a pair and get some decent rubber on it in a years time or so.
I mean fronts always wear slower then the back, but not this one, the bloody front is shot too, my own fault for assuming and not checking, so I'd best piss off and try and find a deal on a pair of tyres fitted quick smart.
I did want to stay with the OEM tyre as I like the tread pattern and it suits the bike (not there's something I'd never thought I'd say) but they're £200+ for the front and £300+ for the rear :jawdrop:
So Avon's it is for £350 the pair fitted, always amazes me that a type with so little tread in the centre can be road legal.

£500 or £350....one still throws 95% (ish) of it away.
(They don't seem to include that in the carbon footprint measurements of stuff ).
Doubt is not a pleasant condition.
But certainty is an absurd one.

Aren't tyres somewhat recyclable? There's a fair bit of steel in there, but I guess it might be quite expensive to get it out.
Also - is it just me, or does it look like there's more tread below the wear marker 'level' than there is above it?? (specifically looking at the obvious wear marker near the top of the photo.
