Lots of kms (for me!) today -

La Plagne to Bourg St Maurice - for chat and coffee

Bourg to Alberville (avoiding most of the N90 after Aime!) for lunch

Albertville to Doucy (back roads with a couple of mistakes! ) to see some friends. Forgot how nadgery the road up to Doucy is :lol  but had a great catch up :D

Doucy to La Plagne for a rest :D :D

About 175 ish kms I think. I've tried to do the route on google maps, but it won't let me make as many adjustments as I want, so, fail!!

The view from my friends place in Doucy :D

Feels like a grom compared to the Triumph 😁

It's really a bit of a pussycat, mt07 makes more power and weighs at least a boat anchor less 😳

I'm not sure what it is,maybe more than one thing, but I haven't been to the NW200 for some years now. It's a great event and brilliant weather for once,yet....I dunno.

Lovely day out in the Dales, Devil's bridge first dodging the tourists, then on to Sedbergh, beautiful road and not one single car in front of me, some chap on a multistrada appeared from nowhere behind me and promptly fucked off out of sight in seconds 😳 Then onto Garsdale, sooo pretty and no cars again. Quick fuel stop in Hawes then on to Masham for a cheeky burger, 3 Guzzis in the market place and there were still more KTM's than us. Then back home through Pately Bridge and Grassington, amongst the tourists heading home.

That's my rationale with Oulton Park BSB even just a couple of years ago I would be looking forward to it months in advance, this year I CBA with the queuing etc & enjoyed watching it on the telly.
I've never been to the NW200 as it usually seems to be 'Rain affected' but in the early 90's we went to the Ulster GP for a few days, thoroughly enjoyed it

For years I went to all the road races, but the keen interest has lessened, probably more to my attitude than any fault of the races. I've always preferred the smaller road races and the Ulster to the NW. I think the NW is a bit like the IOM,where lots of folks go for the party and aren't bothered with the racing, whereas the likes of the Mid Antrim was purely race fans.

Maybe just down to my general dislike of crowds and schitt.

One of those days today, I probably get two or three of these days each riding season, when everything just clicks, all the elements of a good ride combine to make a day that I will recall for years.

I haven’t surfed or sailed for years, but there are sessions like that in my memory banks when everything felt perfect.

I imagine that golfers, musicians, etc must experience something similar, and that’s what keeps us coming back, knowing that this feeling is out there, ready waiting for us.

The result of this was I didn’t stop for any photo ops, just managed to get a quick shot when I dropped into Vice Motorcycles in Leamington Spa for a cold drink.

Incidentally, my mate was touring around Vegas whilst I was in Morocco. He told me that the Grand Canyon covers 6,734 km² The Sahara covers a bit more at 9.2million km². You learn something every day.

The day before getting to the Sahara, we rode through a snowstorm south of Fes in the Atlas montains.

As above (different perspective!)! I met up with M. Sadlonelygit, his better half and their pooch :D : But only went biking with SLG!!

I took the pretty way to the meet point and then back the same way - have never done either direction on a bike! Little bit tight for my shoulder but awesome fun and only the second time I've been out riding with another biker since moving here :o :o

It’s the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride today, and what with me being 50 something, grey haired, bearded Triumph Modern Classic rider, it could be assumed that this was right up my street. However group rides, especially organised ones in fancy dress are not what I want out of biking.

Exploring alone, with no target save stopping somewhere for a coffee is my two wheeled therapy and again today was another good session.

Blue skies, empty roads and my little scrambler.

Northamptonshire was the area of interest today with a quick coffee stop at The Old Depot in Weedon Bec.
