I could have at times pushed for a more senior role, but i've seen the hours these people work etc.
Same here. I've had the chance of more lucrative roles but have never pursued them. I'm currently the only fish in a small pond and I like it like that. It will change here for sure and roles will be developed, but anyone and everyone can leapfrog over me as I'm not interested. These days I'm very much a work-to-live and not a live-to-work guy.

I'm a well paid fish in a small gene pool, it isn't great, I'd prefer a larger pond.

Sometimes it's about talent, sometimes it's about luck, sometimes it's the machinery.
Eg #93. Several seasons in the wilderness, fucking up his body on a clearly uncompetitive bike.
Now.....
Now take Biaggi, several seasons as 250 main man, too many if you ask me. Goes to 500s, good, but not the enchiladas!
Personally never been bothered about which pond I was in or how small I was, sometimes it's nice to slip by unnoticed and get on with life rather than crave recognition etc.

He did. 2004 or 2005. In one race he did swim up with the big Fish, until the sun came out and the Pond dried.
