Got sunburnt, rode home.

Just received a lovely picture of my mate's daughter and son-in-law holding their new baby, Lily, born this morning. They'd been trying for years, with all sorts of IVF, then bugger me, whilst on a break from it all, she falls preggers naturally. Lovely couple, so nice to see a happy ending.

Plus I won the date and gender sweepstake.

(No prizes were mentioned during this wine-fueled gambling spree, but I assume it must be a bottle of Macallan 21, right?)

Completed a week of my new 'fad' diet.

It's not really a diet and I usually laugh at fads but, I heard 'Just One Thing' on R4 recently (it's a series of 15 minute programmes on things that can improve your health) on the benefits of milled flax/linseed. It can reduce high blood pressure (but doesn't lower normal or low BP) + other poss benefits Inc helping with atrial fibrillation etc etc. (I already have some of the fancy stuff 'with biocultures and vitamin D' added on my muesli every morning but not as much as the prog suggests).

My BP has been a bit elevated, nowt but hitting 150/100 at times, so thought 'what the hell' and bought some linseed (cheap as chips cf the posh stuff), started grinding it and adding it to food through the day.

BP started to come down a bit so will keep going. However, it's definitely done something to the micro variations in my pulse (which is what sports watches measure as 'stress' and 'body battery') 'cos my body battery is actually getting charged at night and if I loaf around during the day. Previously it stayed flat-lined or limped up a bit, lucky to see 30...today, 93. Never seen anything that high as long as I've had the watch.

Wife reckons her atrial fibrillation may have improved too.

So, might be a fad that actually works!

(Given the calories in the stuff I'll probably be 24st by Christmas ).

Booked a trip to Transylvania for next month.

I just like saying it "I've booked a holiday to Transylvania. Five nights, ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaa".

I'll be riding a Svartpilen 401 and I'm not sure I can reach the ground on it. I remember sitting on one at Box Hill last year and thinking it is a bit tall - guess I'll find out

Used my new sander to pimp up the hardwood 'step' on an external door and given the wood a first treatment of mahogany coloured woodstain. Pleased with the result.

Should probably have got a 'mouse' sander too, to get in the nooks and crannies.

(I thought the local, small, independent hardware store was taking the p at £12+ for a 250ml can of stain though! For about £5 more I could have got 750ml elsewhere. It would just mean I'd spent £5 more to have 700ml surplus sitting on a shelf for the next few years though - and I'd like the handyman place to survive).

With the stain it was £12 for 250ml in the local shop. Just checked and 2.5l of the same stuff in Screwfix is £36.

However, I regard that as £24 saved because I actually need about 50ml for 3 coats. I'll do the kitchen door one as well since I've got spare, then anything wooden is fair game

Some major sorting out of kitchen 'area' (big word for it as the kitchen, dining and sitting area is a bit less than 3msq!!) -

it has left me with a bit more space, a lack of malt extract, me feeling a bit achy from moving loads of stuff to shelves under the bed!!

Still looks a total mess, but I have a lot of stuff to take to the garage I use (this stuff will go mostly for more sorting out!! LOL I need to repack or throw away a lot of stuff!! LOL)

In theory I have to make some pies with the pie maker I have. But, I need to sort out the freezer first to make some space to put the pies!!
