I saw it on the TV, it looked like one ( don't know who) did a bit of a wheelie and careered sideways into another and set off a skittle effect before they'd even really got out of first gear.

Another mate who was there but not riding (he sponsors someone but I can never remember who!) reckons the skill level in that class varies hugely and that there are a lot of comments in the paddock that it's like having racers testing int he novice group sometimes. Ok, that's probably a bit extreme, but his comment was that it was supposed to be a less expensive 'filter' class. Seems like there's a few people from higher levels that are looking for a cheap win Maybe - not that that has anything to do with an out of control wheelie on the grid!!

I'm sure I heard it mentioned that last year Richard Cooper got every pole and won every race (he's not in it this year).

I keep an eye out for local lad Nicky Coates. He was put to the back of the grid and he carved his way through the field from dead last to something like 8th on the first lap,so I could readily believe the skill disparity.Noggin wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 5:33 pm Another mate who was there but not riding (he sponsors someone but I can never remember who!) reckons the skill level in that class varies hugely and that there are a lot of comments in the paddock that it's like having racers testing int he novice group sometimes. Suits the organisers too, I guess, gives people an extra incentive to watch it.Yorick wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 7:21 pmYeah. Because of the big crash, they cancelled the final. So everyone lost chance of prize money.ChrisW wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 7:27 pmSuits the organisers too, I guess, gives people an extra incentive to watch it.Yorick wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 7:21 pmYeah. And from now on, the F900 series final will be the last event of the day.

Re: BSB Oulton park TV coverage
Just meant having the big names on the grid. I didn't catch any of the BSB at the weekend - that's all a bit of a shame. I've had a couple or more lousy start line experiences when the grid's been a bit mixed. No fun for anyone.
