I'm glad they've banned holeshot devices and ride height devices.

When the four strokes were introduced they were 990cc, between 2007 and 2012 they were 800cc, it was only in 2012 that they went up to 1000cc.

I guess it's to make them more fuel efficient so they look like they're doing a bit for global warming, etc...

Glad they've banned ride height and holeshot devices, but they've been rather timid on the aero reductions. Global sharing of GPS data after each session is 'interesting'. The reduction in bore size means that the stroke of an 850cc engine is almost the same as the 1000cc engines (around 48mm by my calculations) so piston speed (and thereby revs) will be very similar.

If they are reducing engine capacity to slow the bikes,it won't work. Engineers will just make the smaller one faster,eventually.

Banning aero is a bit daft if aero makes them more efficient.
I think they should fuck off all the rules and allow 2wd, supercharging, dustbin fairings and active aero, no weight limit and everything. Group B madness on 2 wheels. Awesome.

I'm glad about the ride-height devices going. I was ok with holeshot devices and will have to wait and see what the capacity change brings.

The aero reduction / homologation is something at least but, again, will have to wait and see what effect it has.

At least with the holeshot/ride height devices being canned, they won't be piling into the first corner so fast. But the engineers will just come up with something to do a similar job, but still conforming to the rules.

It's more about keeping them at about the same level, rather than slowing them down IYSWIM. Formula 1 has got this down pretty well, the cars haven't got very much faster in the last 25 years! Certainly not 25 years worth of development faster.
