Nah crumpets are not the same.
Pikelets are thinner.
I prefer crumpets as you can get more butter on them. Butter is good for the body as it helps the blood flow better...!

Re: What have you done today thread?
They're ok, I was working over in Stoke a few weeks ago and the butty shop* I got my team breakfast from did them so I had one. It was ok, but underwhelming in a similar vein to oatcakes...
*I was standing outside, waiting on my order, leaning against the doorway of the next door shop. I couldn't work out why people driving and walking by were giving me funny looks until I stepped out to look at the shop against which I was leaning....
Edit to clarify: it wasn't a team breakfast for just me, it was breakfasts, multiple, one for each member of my team.

Got MOTs (with no advisories I might add ) on my big old yellow LT van, and the just brilliant and seemingly indestructible trusty 525EXC- both vehicles that I've owned for in excess of 15 years, both have cost me next to nothing over that time , still provide great service and refuse to die.
A good day

Re: What have you done today thread?
So far, nowt great.
Popped over to the local Covid test station for a test cos some people off the same site as me have tested positive.
Not directly working with me but in the same wing so it pays to be sure (ish).
I've also scrounged my brothers small welding set and have a gate to modify, assuming I'm allowed out.
The gate was cheap and a bit too big so its to cut down an l'll weld it back up
I doubt it will run out rods any bigger than 2.5mm but thats enough for a gate.
Damn, those welding sets got small since I was doing it for a living, they used to be heavy numb buzzboxes but this thing is like a handbag. It won't have as high a duty cycle as the industrial units but again, running a couple of inches of weld out shouldn't be an issue.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Just done amazing 6 hour enduro on sarf part of the island. Don't often go there so some new interesting routes
Scary as fuck in some places. Didn't really know where we were sometimes
Most important part of each trip is the fish butties. First place we stopped at in Playa Quemada was scary prices and no butties.
So found a local bar in Femes.
Was blazing hot and still 30c right now. But the beer is cool

Re: What have you done today thread?
Got all geared up to go riding, fucking bike wouldn't start & about killed the battery during 4 attempt to fire it up.
Bugger.
Back in the house, take all the gear off.
Walk back into the garage 5 minutes & the damn thing fired right up.
ok, get all geared up again & off I go
Stop for gas a mile down the road, bike fires right up again.
Get down the hill & stop for gas again. Bike won't start.
Bugger two
Bump start it & we're back in business.
Get to the Rockstore, hang out for about three hours, bike won't start.
Bugger three.
Bump start bike & off we go.
Playing with a Ferrari on Cornell Rd & he passes over a rattlesnake in the middle of the lane.
Snake lifts it's head to strike Ferrari just as I see it. Splat. One less rattler.
Today was the first "Third Sunday Kaw Day" at the RS. Final score was:
5 ZRX's
3 Z900RS's
1 each, '72 H2, ZR1100 Zephyr. 1st year GPz600R,
2 ZX14's
2 identical KZ13's
Bugger.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Had my prostate checked, all part of the investigation into wots up with me. Nice start to a week!!!
Pleased to say that so far it’s looking good, next step will tell.
After that, 2 sausage batches, Tesco c&c, coffee and cake.
Vacuum all the many leaves up in the garden, gf spoke to her mate to discover her and her hubby have COVID.
Then a relax, a walk along the cut, followed by the gf’s chilli, lovely!!
Now an evening of looking at bikes, heading firmly towards a new shape Trophy, then a cuddle before much needed sleep.
Have a brilliant evening all
Mick.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I had an frustrating exercise in patience..
Need plugs for the bike & some oil, already have a filter.
Plugs are NGK CR9EK's or CR9EIX's, oil is Mobil 1 MX4T
Go online to see who has the required items. O'Reilly's, Pepboys & Ghettozone all state they have all three in stock. All 3 stores are within 2 miles of the house so off I go.
O'Reilly's: We'd have to order those plugs & we don't have the oil in stock
Pepboys: "Truck is late, oil will be here later"... But they have both kinds of plug. I leave with 4 of the Iridium EIX's, I even get Veteran discount which basically covers the sales tax.
Ghettozone: They have the oil. I'm at the counter, drone is serving me. Ask of there's a Veteran discount, yes there is (woot!) Guy is having trouble figuring out how to apply it & while he's doing this the fucker answers the phone & starts serving that person who evidently doesn't even know what kind of goddamn car they drive... while I'm waiting at the card reader to pay for my oil & leave. After two minutes of listening to him basically instruct the idiot on the phone how to identify what kind of car they have I walked out without the oil. Life's too short.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Built a bridge. We've got permissive access to the National Trust common behind our house and the shonky old lashup of a bridge the previous owners put in over the draining ditch finally gave way the other week. With our puppy arriving from North Macedonia in the next couple of weeks I thought I better sort this out before the weather got really shit, and it was an excuse to buy the chopsaw I've had my eye on for a few months.
