You are kidding me, yes? Al Jazeera being a trustworthy, and neutral, news agency?

Did you watch it?

Which parts of it do you think aren't true? How are they less neutral than other agencies?

It seemed pretty informative and rather more balanced than some mainstream news feeds to me. It certainly didn't do a whitewash job on Hamas's actions but it raised questions about some of the info we've been presented with as 'fact' that has been happily transmitted by other organisations.

Which other "mainstream news feeds" did you have in mind?

Yes, a lot of it, are your answers to the first two.

As for Al Jazeera being more balanced, incredulous is my response. I really can't believe you think they are a credible, unbiased news outlet.

Pity there's not going to be a nice big tank battle.

All a bit of a damp squib by the sound of things.

Israel could simply say "Meh, not really worth responding to." but I doubt they will.

Then of course, after they have responded Iran will probably have another go at showing everyone in the region how inept they are.

And on it will go . . .

Seems to be basically a score draw except for the fact that Israel will not rest until the hostages are returned.

US Presidential elections are in November 2024. Until then with Biden as President Israel can count on US support, but thereafter perhaps not. So Israel's retaliation against Iran and/or its proxies and agents will be before then. IMO of course.

Israeli attack on nuclear sites to prompt tit-for-tat, pursuing nukes: Iran

Iran warns Israel that if it goes ahead with a retaliation for last week’s attack, Tehran will respond in kind and also pursue a nuclear weapon.
Effectively creates a protective umbrella for Iran's proxies and fellow travellers to continue attacking Israel. Such as Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Shaping up nicely for WW3. Iran v Israel initially, Russia/Iran/China v NATO + Others as the end game. Brazil and India will win.

Seems theres no answers to your questions, or possibly Irie is just avoiding it cos its inconvenient.

Anyway, I had a bit of a ratch and found this story in the Independent.
The story is from 2014, now I remember being a kid and my mother wouldn't but a particular brand of oranges* because of the fact that Israel was an apartied state, I'm 52 years old now, if anyone thinks that this is a recent thing they clearly haven't been paying attention to world news.
Dozens of Holocaust survivors, together with hundreds of descendants of Holocaust survivors and victims, have accused Israel of “genocide” for the deaths of more than 2,000 Palestinians in Gaza since the conflict erupted in July.

In an open letter released by the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network and published as an advert in The New York Times, the group calls for a full economic, cultural and academic boycott of Israel over its “wholesale effort to destroy Gaza”.

“Genocide begins with the silence of the world,” the statement reads, “We must raise our collective voices and use our collective power to bring about an end to all forms of racism, including the ongoing genocide of Palestinian people.”

The statement also condemns the United States for its financial and diplomatic support of Israel.

The signatories express alarm at “the extreme, racist dehumanization of Palestinians in Israeli society, which has reached a fever pitch.”

This condemnation was designed as a response to a widely-published advertisement from Nobel prize-winning author Elie Wiesel that condemned Hamas for its “use of children as human shields”.

The statement reads: “We are disgusted and outraged by Elie Wiesel’s abuse of our history […] to justify the unjustifiable.”

Of the 327 signatories, 40 survived the Holocaust and the other 287 are descendants of Holocaust survivors or victims.

Recent today reports refer to the destruction of an high rise office building in the southern town of Rafah, and the bombing of an apartment building in Gaza City amid attempts from the Egyptian government to establish a durable ceasefire.

More than 2,100 Palestinians, including 500 children have been killed in the conflict, according to Palestinian health officials and UN figures. Israel has lost 64 soldiers and four civilians.
Oh and just for Irie heres yer link. Got a bit more time tonight old chap and wouldn't want you to have to copy and past it onto google just so you can make a big deal about that whilst avoiding the actual text.

*Might have been Jaffa but hell, I was a kid and can't remember for sure. I do remember the Apartied bit though. Just check out the links between Apartied South Africa and Israel.

Reported that Israel has attacked a site in Isfahan.

Israeli missiles hit site in Iran, ABC News reports

WASHINGTON, April 18 (Reuters) - Israeli missiles have hit a site in Iran, ABC News reported late on Thursday, citing a U.S. official, while Iranian state media reported an explosion in the center of the country, days after Iran launched a retaliatory drone strike on Israel.
Isfahan is suspected of being at the centre of Iran's nuclear weapons development programme.

https://www.nti.org/education-center/fa ... nter-intc/
Built with Chinese assistance and opened in 1984, the Isfahan (Esfahan) Nuclear Technology Center (INTC) is Iran's largest nuclear research complex and employs approximately 3,000 scientists.

Isfahan is a multi-purpose research center suspected of being the center of a secret Iranian nuclear weapons program. It operates three small Chinese-supplied research reactors.  It also operates a conversion facility, a fuel production plant, a zirconium cladding plant, and other facilities and laboratories

So, the ICJ has issued a ruling that Israel must stop its invasion of Raffah because of the probability of genocide, the ICC is in the process of getting an arrest warrant for thee members of Hamas and two Israelis, including Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes.

Interesting news indeed.

Lawyers love making money from shite like this.

The ICJ thinks it has teeth.

It doesn't.
Sky News wrote: International Court of Justice orders Israel to halt Rafah offensive

The court also ordered Israel to open the Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza to allow in humanitarian aid, and said Israel must provide access to the besieged territory for investigators and report back on its progress within a month.
So exactly who/what will/can force Israel to abide by this ruling?

Nobody.

For something so meaningless issued by a paper tiger etc it seems to have upset the Israeli government rather a lot. Maybe they're just over-sensitive.
