Re: What Was Your Favourite Monopoly Piece?
I always wanted to be the Battleship but my older brother always bagged it.
It's like how I always wanted to be the Silk Cut Jaguar on our Le Mans Scalextric set but ended up with the Rothmans Porsche. I felt hard done by, but in hindsite I was an idiot in that choice.

The Jag is mildly better, the spoiler on the back of the Porsche 962 makes it a bit tail happy.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 9:48 pm I always wanted to be the Battleship but my older brother always bagged it.

#1 The hat
#2 The boot
As you could put them on the end of a finger.

I have absolutely no idea why, but I always wanted (and got) the hat. (No, not that hat. ).

I always wanted the car, but mainly because our set didn't have a motorbike. Sister had the dog, Dad had the hat, Mum had the iron.

I think I generally went for the iron or the hat. But it’s been so long since I’ve played I really can’t remember
Definitely have no recollection of a battleship tho

While they were all arguing over the pieces,I was pinching and stashing the £500 notes.

Yeah, I don't remember the battleship or the motorbike.
Car, dog, hat, iron I remember. Always the car for me. Although I never really liked the game as it went on for ages, probably because we were playing it wrong (like most people probably were).

Although it's quintessentially London, Monopoly was originally based on Atlantic City. (Surprised they had enough places but, IIRC the policeman on 'Go to Jail' looks a bit American).

Pretty sure I've got Milton Keynes monopoly and I'm equally pretty sure that I've never played it.
