Slept, drove 235 miles (Sheffield to Portsmouth), got on a boat, slept on a boat, got off the boat and drove 225 miles (Caen to Vierzon), booked in at a B&B, ordered a pizza, ate a pizza, washed down with red wine, now time for more sleeps. G'nite.

I just googled Vierzon. It's twinned with Hereford. Can you ask if they know the colour of the boat house?

Had a visit with the hand surgeon. He's gonna try a shot of Toradol in a couple of weeks & see if that helps me any.

Rest of the day was spent ripping a bunch of music CDs to a thumb drive which will be plugged into the new sound system in the F350. The current set up in there is one step up from a wind-up gramophone.

Decided that it's not worth the price of a Sirius sub when the truck will only be drive once or twice a month.

Not sure how the fuck I ended up with THREE Nickelback albums as I've never bought one.

They won't be uploaded to the thumb drive (ditto for U2)

Published my first portable executable app... It puts data into SBO using the DI API interface from a separate database with parcel tracking numbers in it.

I only started it this morning and I'd never touched the DI before in my life (or published an .net app).

I'm very chuffed.

I might parameterise it and put some error handling in tomorrow.

Is it for Evri?

If so, don't bother.

No, We used MyDPDLocal, the software generates a receipt file whenever a label is created. I'd already created an SSIS job to poll the network share for the file and write the consignment numbers to a bespoke database, you're not allowed to use none SAP methods for putting data in SBO, despite it being an MSSQL database. So I had to used the DI to get the consignment numbers from my custom DB into SBO itself.

It's very exciting for a support monkey like myself to write something that actually works without paying the support partner £5k to do it.

Driven to Oxford in fog/rain/drizzle and spray. Tomorrow AM off Thiefrow and on to Giberalter for a long weekend in Spain.

Weather is alleged to be good, but I no longer believe weather forecasters.

On an admittedly small sample size (one), no-one's ever heard of Hereford in Vierzon, let alone the boat house. I'll ask again next time I'm back...

Got up, fed the cat, had breakfast at the B&B and then drove the remaining 338 miles to our gaff, stopping off along the way to pick up 4 cases of wine I'd ordered and paid for at Christmas time. They didn't bat an eyelid. The pile is still standing, but none of the bloody jobs have been done. Suppose I'll have to do them myself. It's warm and windy here, as opposed to cold and windy in northern France.

Swmbo pulled her finger out and finished the curtains.
She forgot that as they were 11' long, they were going to be a handful hanging them. Cue hubby to the rescue.

Did a little ski tour this morning - met some piste bashers and thought it would be cool to ski on the bit of piste they'd 'bashed'. It wasn't! The bits that had been bashed overnight were colder and so harder - the bits they'd just done at 8am were sticky n soft   Turns out I can't ski on the soft sticky stuff!!

Then made brownies to share - appreciated by the friends I shared with :D

Headed to the local seasonaire bar to catch up with friends and had a lemonade with a couple of friends.

Although it turned into an early evening of lectures :( One friend, on being asked how a friend of heres was post stroke, was very loud on how his life is basically over now he'll never use his left arm again. I tried to gently say that it isn't the case (he's older but was an instructor and raced yachts) but she was very shouty about how she'd rathe be dead with that sort of injury/lack of recovery. I again gently pointed out that I can't agree as I have various friends with limited movement/wheelchair bound and it's totally possible to ski or race yachts with limited mobility and that there are definitely people out there that do both with only one are etc etc and she shouted in my face saying "what the hell do you know, do you know how to sail a yacht or race one?". Actually yes, I do!! I grew up racing yachts with my dad!! Anyway, had to go talk to someone else for a while. When I went back, she apologised for being a bit loud at me - blamed it on giving up smoking

Then, the bus driver on my return tried to tell me that it's no life to live in resort and that I should move to the valley   25 mins of why the valley is better. I don't agree

Home now to back the bread that was proving this afternoon!!
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:
