Did a 140 miles today, really windy but had a great time.
Get home and the Mrs is out so, instead of riding at a diagonal to the garage I think I'll swing left and right and get in straight. Only there's a fuck off horrible camber to the right as the ground slopes away. Yup, you guessed I get it wrong going to slowly, can't get the lock, go to put my foot down but the slope means I'm off balance and can't hold the bike. Down it goes at standstill
I think I've got off lightly. Peg has snapped, but rear brake lever is straight (I think) and hardly marked. End can has some scuffs but the ones on the can have brushed off so only the end cap, which I might be able to replace. Looks like the can bent in and touched the swingarm but only enough to slightly mark the paint, can't feel it and there's a very slight dent on the inside face of the can. But I think the footpeg assembly and can are all straight looking now...I think.
Main worry was engine/frame/tank/bodywork etc but it looks like the R&G did its job. I can't see any damage at all other than a scuffed bung. The front brake lever is straight and has 2 very small scratches but that's all I can see. Fork protector is unmarked as is swingarm bobbin. So think it landed on the main frame bung (which I think is still straight), the exhaust and the peg.
I'm hoping a new peg and maybe an exhaust end cap and you'd not notice other than the scuffed bung. So think (hope) I got off lightly.
But so pissed off with myself. If I'd have ridden in as normal I'd have been fine, same deal as the seat yesterday. I've not dropped a bike since my 125 when I was 18. I'd spent all day riding extra carefully too as first ride in 4 months and the wind was really strong.
Still on the bright side if I can get on with the missing 2 inches of peg I might be able to ride it tomorrow. Initially had an engine light/code which panicked me but it was in gear so guessing stalled and on its side. Back in neutral, ignition off/on and it went away and started fine.
Think I've fucked my knee picking it up, and will probably feel it elsewhere later. Am medicating with beer
