Fri. Bit of last minute checking on kit/bike/etc, then off to Rheola later for track-walk/beer, Indian for tea with the boy
Sat. Practice day, full of mud and spanners.. AirBNB and Dominos for tea
Sun. Race day... lets see what crazy it brings... Then back home to the wife.

Activity this week is weather dependent. Water butts have arrived so need to lay some slabs to stand them on and get them connected to the downpipes.

If it doesn't stop raining/blowing I might carry on with the loft project.

Might book in at the quacks, this virus thing, or whatever it is, is dragging on. Feels a bit like how they describe 'long Covid' - but if I've had Covid it was before testing (and jabbing) was available so don't even know if that's a possibility.

Hey ho, onwards and upwards/downwards.

After the great en-suite debarcle I have found the leak.
It is the top floor uPVC window that is getting water gush in! So I have a w/e trying to mean that as it looks like it is going to carry on raining.
Diavel to ProTwins for a service and belt change today - so I may not have any money left to do anything else.

Friday, recovering from a horrendous nights sleep after the old dog had me up 5 times between 0100 and 0200 with a dodgy tummy and bladder, topped off by standing bare foot in a “puddle” in the kitchen. Dog walk in the rain later, still feel rubbish after Cat Ebola last week. Colleagues retirement do at a pub in Haywards Heath later.

Saturday, working a 12 Hr night
Sunday, sleeping then 12hr night again.

Friday- picking up the MTB from having the frame wrapped, and possibly taking it for a local spin.

Sat - fox and Tredz have a suspension set up day at cwmcarn so I'll pop over there to let them twiddle the twiddlers on the new MTB, and then go for a lap of one of the trails.

Sun - start to dismantle of the old summerhouse before it spontaneously dismantles itself

Some decorating today. Got new line for powerloading strimmer but looks like doing the lawns is out as its bastard raining again! Step Dad round for wife's home made chinese curry tonight!

Tomorrow off to my daughters as its her birthday. I'm taking us all to a gastro pub thing near her which is supposedly lovely with great food?

Sunday, hopefully wash the xadv and get stuff ready for my return to work. I've been off for 11 days and pretty much failed to do anything I'd taken time off to do! :wtf: :D

Into my last 3 days off out of 12, like Tiepin I feel I’ve wasted some of them, not achieving what I planned.
That said, the F’s garden is all done, trees/bushes trimmed, my garden is almost done, grass cut, trees/bushes trimmed, patio, footpath and decking jet washed.
I’ve got some log rolls along the back of mine that were pressed into a concrete retaining wall and a lot of them are now loose. They are all about 4ft high. My plan is 2 lengths of 2x1 across the whole run, then some plant holders attached, loose ones attached and the whole fixed to the still secure ones. That’s today’s job.
Friday night, Kebab!
Saturday and Sunday will depend on the rain but I’m getting out on the bike, maybe a trip round the Cotswolds stopping off at Wellesbourne airfield for brekky.
Monday, back on my head with a shit load of work to catch up on judging by the many emails I’ve seen!!
Have fun all whatever you’re up to.
Mick.

Currently at panic level zero, but that will slowly but inexorably increase as I get closer to Tuesday, when I leave at stupid o'clock (02:30) to drive down in the van to Portsmouth to catch the 08:00 ferry to France. Having a cat in the van whose overnight sleep has been interrupted will be doubtless 'interesting'.

From now till Monday evening will be spent fretting about 'what have I forgotten?'

I'll be taking a comfy seat to enjoy a couple of days of storm Kathleen. After that,it's to settle down into a week's worth of normal rain.

WFH today. Which meant in reality getting up at 9.45am, logging on, having one handover meeting, doing a smidge of work, and logging off at 11.30am. I normally hate 'notice period limbo', but this time it's doing me good to have a relax!

Met the parents at 12pm for lunch at their favourite restaurant, ate too much, then dragged Muz glasses shopping (I need new ones, and he's very good at instantly dismissing most of the ones I pick up, which saves me a huge amount of faffing about), chose and ordered a couple of pairs.

Home, logged back on and did an hour more work.

Logged off, walked the dog.

Mowed the verge, started to mow the lawn, and the sodding mower packed in. It wouldn't be so annoying, if it wasn't supposed to go in for a service six weeks ago - that was delayed - which would hopefully have stopped this happening (I suspect the carb diaphragm, as it was 'hunting' previously, and now it's suddenly barely limping along and feels excessively fuel starved).

Got mates over for curry tomorrow night, but no major plans aside from that. Will see what the weather and mood dictates...
